The way it was worded, I imagined the teacher was angry as she was asking the question, so I read it as, "IF I GAVE YOU 100 DOLLARS AND YOU GAVE 40 TO MALANIE etc." I was like, "Wtf?" until I finished. It was actually kinda funny imagining a teacher randomly shouting a math question at a student. "BILLY! WHAT IS 100 TIMES 10?" "*startled* Uh-1000?" "VERY GOOD! YOU GET AN A! NOW SIT DOWN!"

Dammit, you're right! I was trying to make it look like he was talking quickly as if he were scared (- equals sudden interruption), but instead it just looks like I fail at basic math. Oh well.
