+330 Paedophile is too all encompassing. In the UK (age of consent being 16), a 16 year old guy having sex with his girlfriend who's 2 months younger is considered the same as the 50 year old guy who raped a 5 year old. They need to have varying grades; but 'super paedophile' sends mixed messages, amirite?

I agree to a certain degree. Like, any adult having sex with a minor should be prosecuted. It's different in different places, though - you mentioned a 16 year old having sex with someone whose a few months younger. In Australia, most states have a legal age of consent of 16, but generally don't prosecute if there's a less than 2 years age difference between the two people. But, there are different levels. A 20 year old having sex with a 15-year-old is still wrong, but it's different than having sex with a 5-year-old. And, even though it is still wrong and illegal because there is a power and maturity difference, having sex with a 15-year-old who is willing and wants the act is slightly different from forcing an unconsenting 15-year-old to have sex.

Well, if she consents, it's statutory rape. If she doesn't, it's statutory rape, as well as regular rape, so it is more severe.

what's statutory rape? breaking the law (taboo) while the other one is a more extreme version becasue she wasn't willing?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Extreme isn't the right word to use. As far as sex is concerned, extreme is usually a positive adjective. ie "extreme hardcore REDHEAD TAKES IT UP THE POO PIPE XXX"

This post isn't true. If someone aged 13 or over has consensual sex with someone less than three years older, that's legal.

Oh, I thought anyone below the legal age having sex was still technically illegal, but the law's just never really acted on.
