No, they've had it for way longer. Alzheimer's patients might be the few that in fact have NOT had their disease for as long as they can remember, having memory loss and all.

It might have, over all the people's heads who voted yes on this. Alzheimer's patients are known to have memory loss, and this joke is saying that they have had it for as long as they can remember(a common saying) which means for nearly all of their life. Just because memory loss has something to do with remembering, does not make this a decent joke or pun. Applying the littlest bit of thought into this makes you realise how wrong this really is.
