Some stuff is tampered with, but there's some crap that no one cares about enough to change. I'm preeeeetty sure no one would edit information about some unknown battle from civil war in Ghana.

You never know. I was reading an article about someone from the USA's Civil War era and it was full of completely and obviously made up stuff that looked like a 12 year old boy wrote it trying to be funny.
