+85 So women want everything that men have? So why don't they ask to make it a law that women should be drafted as well? It's because women like to pick and choose. amirite?

Interesting username. Anyway, I think everything legal pertaining to women should be exactly the same as men. Not better, not worse, the same.

There is no draft.

Hey, if men are stupid enough to think that women are too weak to go to war, we're not going to correct them. Yes, it would be fair for women to be drafted if men were being drafted. But do you really think that if men were in this situation they wouldn't like to pick and choose as well? Everyone wants all the privileges and none of the duties.

Men pick and choose too...

Where are you from? Nearly all western countries have abolished the draft entirely, while Benin, Chad, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Israel, Libya, Malaysia, North Korea, Peru, Tunisia, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mongolia do draft women.

My mom left her home and family in Eritrea and had to move to Italy (and eventually, the U.S.) because she was afraid of being drafted.

Where I live (Australia) there is no draft for men or women. And the only duty's that women are not allowed to do, such as serve on the front line, is going to change (the government is fast tracking the process) so that if a woman meets the physical requirements she can.

In seventh grade this girl was saying that she's glad she's a girl so she won't get drafted. I told her that since there are new laws if we had another draft they may include woman. She was shocked and got upset.

People forget that men and women are both physically and mentally different.

I think that once a couple, or single parent, had children, that they should have to choose which parent will be the "stay at home mom/dad" even if both parents had jobs and that they should have to fill out a form for it. And then if there was a draft, the bread winner would be drafted if physically/mentally able. No matter what gender.
