I'm 1/3 black, the rest white and everyone mistakes me for Mexican because my last name is Garcia and I look like im mexican a lot. Where do we go from here.

I randomly thought about that while I was buying some nail polish last year. "It's a good thing I'm white because my favorite polish is dark blue and if I was black it wouldn't look good with my skin tone." So as far as nail polish goes, yeah. Very glad.

You know in all actuality, I dont think it's a white or black problem. Its more of general skin tone. Lots of people have colors that they shouldn't wear you know. Like me I look absolutely horridin yellow. frown

I don't like how yellow looks on me either. Although I don't really like the color yellow to begin with... I'm just super pale so it really washes me out.

I kind of wish I was black or at least tanner because yellows and peach-colored clothes, makeup, and nail polish don't look good on me.

I'm happy being white, but I wish I was black a lot of the time. I'd be better at sports, dancing, singing, and having swag. Right now I'm just awkward.

Well maybe they would just not want to have a much darker skin tone. As opposed to being Asian, or something, where your skin tone isn't quite as different.

Maybe...I would like to see clarification from the OP what he meant exactly. It would be one thing to say "White people: you're okay with being white" but the specificity of saying "White people: you're glad you're not black" raises some questions.

I've always kinda wished I was black because I just feel so damn guilty all the time being white, not to mention people can just say racist stuff to you and no one cares because it's OK to be racist to white people. But then I think about how it's annoying enough being part of one gimped minority, and then I am sort of thankful I'm white, I suppose.
