His name is James. His surname is Hook, so it's always been the same, hand or no hand. Captain James Hook.

I thought his name was Hook and that's why he picked a hook to replace his hand. It took a few years, but after we learned about reversal of causation in school, it was a lot easier to get my friends to understand.
