I understand people being able to voice their opinions about how much the video sucks, because God knows I've said the same.
Serious time
But what's truly ridiculous (and has happened with Bieber and many others, namely teen stars) is when people tell said person to kill themselves. That is /way/ too far. I don't care what anyone says. Black said in an interview that one commenter had told her to cut her wrists and die. There's no excuse for that.
I agree. You can bash on a person all you want, but as soon as you wish them harm just because they aren't the best singer in the world, you've gone too far.
have you ever been on justin bieber's baby video?
I swear all the no lifes that just hang around there waiting to troll
"ooh on march 1 is his birthday, lets all go to his chanel and tell him to die!"...and it gets thumbs up... sigh sometimes you just look at this gernation.
people will say they hate him in self protection for their diginity I guess?
It's just pretty stupid imo that you would have to conform to something like this to get acceptance.
Sure, sure it's all fair game once it's on the Internet, but still, when you actually consider the fact that youre talking down a 13 year old, it's kind of odd.
that's even worse? cause justin bieber at least has some talent and writes his own songs amirite?
wtf is friday?!? it sounds like a preschool song teaching you the days of the week.
I have no pity for any 13-year-old brat whose parents could spend that money in the first place, not to mention the fact that she's making millions now. Poor little rich girl actually got a reality check. Wish it happened more often.
Okay, but seriously?
if someone had given you the chance to be in a music video when you were 13 you would have most likely snatched the offer up.
It's not like she wrote the song. I know it's a horrible, absolutely shitty song, but that doesn't mean that people can say things like "you should go die" to her. Kids do horrible things to themselves when ONE person is mean to themselves, imagine if people all over the world were doing it.
Like I said, it's FINE to bash the song, I did so too, the song almost asks for it, but you can't just say shit to a 13 year old girl who didn't know any better.
(It is true...): yeah I know. but at that age, for me at least, it would have been the coolest thing ever to be a "singer" regardless of the situation in which it happened
When someone does something that makes the majority of people displeased, there are consequences; it's just a fact of life. She's fortunate that all she's facing is some bullying, even if some people take it a bit far.
She didn't write the song, she didn't add the autotune, she didn't direct or have really any say in the making of the video, and she's not a horrible singer. She was offered a chance to make money doing something she loves, so she took it. Why is she terrible?
First of all, she sold herself out. If she cared about music at all, she would've taken one look at the lyrics and walked out. Secondly, auto tuned or not, she's not a good singer.
So you're saying when you were 13, if you were offered fame and millions of dollars, you would put your refined dignity ahead of being known by everyone and financially set for life?
If my "fame" you mean global ridicule, and "millions" you mean thousands at most, which I honestly can get in my current lifestlye, then yes, I'd like to keep my dignity.
Again, this is a 13 year old girl, she had NO idea that her musical abilities were lacking, nor that she's sacrificing her dignity. Read my sarcasm in 'refined dignity'. I mean, 13 year old girls pretend they're vampires for f***s sake.
Not to mention, the song has sold over 43,000 copies on iTunes, that's worth more than a few thousand, plus she's become a meme, she's going to be getting money from plenty of other sources, just like Antoine Dodson.
I was twelve myself when I discovered how good lyricism can be. In fact, I learned to play the drums and guitar that year, as well as writing my own songs, so there's a safe bad I had more musical talent than her at a younger age. Secondly, there's a good chance she's not well enough educated in law to guarantee she got a fair deal between her manager, the rest of the people in the video, the obligatory Black guy, and anyone else who might've wanted to rip off a thirteen year old girl that day. Third of all, Antoine Dodson knew how to laugh at himself. People make fun of him, but they also like him. Unless Black gets over this "haters gonna hate" attitude of her, none of her endorsements are going to pull through.
You can watch the whole thing if you want, but if you skip to 3:30, she sings a bit without autotune. Now, again, she's not a exactly good singer, but I'd just like to put this little thought out for debate: Is she better than the Black Eyed Peas (without autotune)? Hmmm...
I'm only 11 and I think she is awful. She's not exactly a little girl. Her mommy bought her the song, she needed a reality check. She may be a decent singer, but as someone said before me,nobody with any self-respect wouldn't walk away the moment they saw the lyrics. I don't think the go cut yourself and starve yourself to be pretty comment was needed, in fact it was bitchy and awful, but that's life.

Gernation? Imo?
gernation*
imo=in my opinion
Generation? :s
(...): WOW
yes generation....
While she's swimming in a sea of cash...
If she thinks she's going to get famous by publicly releasig a song, then she should be prepared for tthe public opinions.
Sure, sure it's all fair game once it's on the Internet, but still, when you actually consider the fact that youre talking down a 13 year old, it's kind of odd.
Holy crap, she's thirteen? She was dressed up like she was 15-16 or something.
Also, it's the internet, it's a public domain. If it wasn't on the internet, people would be saying the same exact things about it in real life.
If you can't handle it, then don't put it out there. It's not like it's a secret that people are harsh, especially when it comes to famous people.
GIven that her mother says that she is "the new Justing Bieber", what makes bagging on Justin Bieber any different?
(Chauncy Pickles): He's 17 and she didn't write the song.
that's even worse? cause justin bieber at least has some talent and writes his own songs amirite?

Free speech, motherfuckers.

/done.
You know her parents paid for her to get that video made? She got to choose the song.
(It is true...): yeah I know. but at that age, for me at least, it would have been the coolest thing ever to be a "singer" regardless of the situation in which it happened
:s I am that age and I would not sing that song if I was paid a billion dollars.
(It is true...): Out of 2 choices..
Well I hope she chose the better option. 0.0
She WILLINGLY put that video out there onto a cruel internet, whose users want nothing to do but troll...
When someone does something that makes the majority of people displeased, there are consequences; it's just a fact of life. She's fortunate that all she's facing is some bullying, even if some people take it a bit far.
I think what anonymous meant by "verbally abuse" is telling her to kill herself and cut herself, not saying that it's a horrible song, which it is.
"She's terrible."
She didn't write the song, she didn't add the autotune, she didn't direct or have really any say in the making of the video, and she's not a horrible singer. She was offered a chance to make money doing something she loves, so she took it. Why is she terrible?

Again, you're comparing the logic, dignity, and judgement, and humility of adults to that of a 13 year old girl.
Not really. I'm more than used to laughing at myself, and can promise you I would've reacted similarly to Antoine.
You can watch the whole thing if you want, but if you skip to 3:30, she sings a bit without autotune. Now, again, she's not a exactly good singer, but I'd just like to put this little thought out for debate: Is she better than the Black Eyed Peas (without autotune)? Hmmm...
They're both mediocre, but the Black Eyed Peas at least have the ability between laughably bad and marketably bad.
No, they just suck.
I didn't say otherwise. They're not great, but they've lasted this long.
She put money and a shot at fame above her dignity.
Her parents paid for her to record the song/video clip to be made.
Jessi Slaughter, anyone?
Jessi was asking for it with her arrogance and how she kept saying she was better than everyone, and then disobeyed the police.
I completely forgot about her.
I kind of hope Ritchard Gale gets a few weeks of trolling, but learns his lesson.
My friend told me she performed live or something and snag without autotune, and she was actually a pretty decent singer.
Fuck you anonymous, you don't have an opinion.
I'm only 11 and I think she is awful. She's not exactly a little girl. Her mommy bought her the song, she needed a reality check.
