+132 The song "I can see for miles" by The Who would be known as "I can see for kilometers" in the UK, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or anywhere outside of America

well, its just that Who were part of the Brit Invasion, so, I thought it would be appropriate to say UK. But good point you have there...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah guess that's true, didn't think of that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They use miles in England...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Did not know that

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Dude, The Who is British.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

AND they use miles there anyways. which is how the song got its name in the first place...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We use miles over here for the majority of things. The metric system is mostly used in scientific calculations and such rather than everyday things.

And Canada! Why does everyone always forget Canada?! D:

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who cares about Canada?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Perhaps you've forgotten about Vimy?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Except, not. Seeing as miles is the British system. How does this have so many YYAs?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have no idea how this got homepaged. Its one of those posts that you made a long time ago and didn't really think about it but then later you thought "wtf am I talking about?"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well at least the poster understands how it doesn't work >.<

by Anonymous 12 years ago

By this logic, saying I can see Buckingham Palace would be I can see McDonalds in America.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The UK uses miles for most things, apart from in maths at school from what I've seen, and science.
