+39 Medical marijuana is bullshit. Be honest. Smoking marijuana is great, but it doesn't actually physically heal you. amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I agree with everything but the "smoking marijuana is great" part.

close minded prick.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Why because I disagree with smoking pot because a lot of my family has been arrested for doing it? Why don't you open you mind you fucking retard, before you call me a close minded prick, hmm, maybe you may think its all fucking great but once you lose a family member because of this retarded drug, you will understand. You sir are a fucking close minded prick.

then it's not about the drug. it's about the illegality of the drug. smoking the herb isn't doing the harm, it's the fucked up legal system we have that wastes all our tax money locking up innocent pot-smokers. and i'm ma'am, thank you very much.

It doesn't exactly "heal" you, but many other drugs such as as vicodin, advil, ect. are used for medical reasons. Many people I know smoke it when they're in pain. I also know a few people that use it for other reasons too. I'm so tired of people looking down on pot just because they don't understand what it is.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

hell yeah, and plus someone can sooo get addicted to vicodin or any prescription painkillers even when they are taking it for pain

by Anonymous 14 years ago

are you saying that marijuana isn't addicting?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Marijuana is as addicting as banana cream pie. And no, I'm not implying banana cream pie is some divine gift that hooks people in, most people "addicted" to pot are habitual users with addictive personalities (which, by the way, something around 30% of people have) who don't have the willpower to put down pot. Addiction to drugs like say, heroin or alcohol, can not only kill due to health risks and behavioral risks associated with the drug, but the physical addiction could also lead to death in situations of extreme withdrawal. No one's ever died from too much smoking, let alone being deprived of pot. So marijuana may be addicting, but about as addicting as just about anything else in this life can be. And no, medical marijuana doesn't cure, it alleviates symptoms. There's a difference.

I don't look down on pot. I enjoy smoking occasionally. I think it is an excellent recreational drug, and a safer alternative to alcohol. I do however disagree with it being promoted as legitimate medicine. Marijuana advocates should present it as what it is. A recreational drug. Their case for legalizing marijuana should be based on disproving claims against it, proving it as a safer alternative to alcohol and tobacco, and showing the economic benefit that would be gained by legalizing marijuana. I just can't buy into the way it's being presented as a panacea for a multitude of medical problems.

10 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC BOY!! look below

Well, Tocs. Let me tell you, and I say this as a student 15 hours away from a Rehab degree, with an Addictions and Substance abuse certificate: Marijuana is the absolute "healthiest" drug out there for you. MUCH healthier then tobacco, alcohol, and even over-the-counter medicines. There is no finding of any long-term damage, except for some damage to the lungs (only FAR less then cigarettes, because the chemicals in marijuana cause you to cough up most of the "gunk" in your lungs.) Secondly, marijuana is in the process of being tested for being a huge cure for Alzheimer's. They are experimenting with using the THC to develop a drug that slows neuron damage. For the most part, no, it does not CURE medical problems. But it sure as hell alleviates the symptoms. If a cancer patient claims smoking it helps with the pain, are you really going to deny them that privilege because you're morally against it? That's closed minded and selfish.

Medical marijuana saved a 10 year old autistic boys life! google it, he ate it in little brownies so he wasnt smoking it or anything. But he gained like 30 punds and actually eats food and responds to ppl

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It's way better to use something from nature rather than some pill put together in a lab.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It doesn't heal you, it alleviates the pain. Nobody has tried to claim that it heals you.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

just did my term paper on this... and i hate to say so but you are undoubtedly stupid. Its a pain killer not a healer. And it does have long term affects on the body, more than you could imagine. look up THC brain affects on the adolescent mind. You'd be surprised what u can find under medical sites.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

it doesn't heal you, just helps you deal with the pain

by Anonymous 14 years ago

yea marijuana is non-habit forming, natural, and pain killing. It's also great for chemo patients who need to eat and gain weight because it causes the side effect of hunger.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

they're like painkillers for the medicated. and painkillers don't "actually physically heal" you either.
