Stem cell research wouldn't be so controversial if cells from aborted babies were not used, amirite?

They aren't... They are the fertalised eggs left over from people who've had IVF treatments. Stem cells are grown in a petry dish ( embryonic stem cells). You can get adult stem cells from emniotic fluid or umbilical chord blood, but they don't use aborted fetus' -_-

Embryonic stem cell research is controversial because some people think that life starts at conception and that using embryos is like using a person, basically. (The fact that embryos are left over after IVF is actually the reason that some people are opposed to IFV.)
