"Religion convinced the world that there's an invisible man in the sky who watches everything you do. And there's 10 things he doesn't want you to do or else you'll go to a burning place with a lake of fire until the end of eternity. But he loves you! ...And he needs money! He's all powerful, but he can't handle money!"- the late George Carlin

by Anonymous 14 years ago

God doesn't sit up in the sky and judge us; he came down to earth and offers us forgiveness. He's not invisible, nor does he judge us while we're alive. His death and resurrection set us free from bondage to the Law (10 things...). He doesn't need our money, nor does he want it. Christians tithe as a way of saying that God deserves all that we have to give, but because we still need sustenance, tithes are generally only about 10% of what we get. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. I Timothy 1:15-16

Here's something for you. Quote: "I wanted a bicycle so I prayed for one but i know god doest work that way so i stole one and asked for forgiveness." -Anonymous

Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. (1Corinthians 10:23) What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means!(Romans 6:1-2, 6:15) God forgives anyone who 'confesses with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead.' (Romans 10:9) This can include murders and rapists, I don't see why he wouldn't forgive a man guilty of petty theft. However, that quote brings up another point, Faith. "But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does." (James 1:6-8)

Bible-thumpers: you aren't going to convince anyone to view what you believe, and same with the agnostics/atheists. Just realize that your beliefs aren't necessarily the "right way" and you are no better than anyone else. People can believe whatever the hell they want. End. Of. Story.

Lol, some people disagree because they don't think it is good, and some disagree because they don't think it's fiction.
