+174 America is trillions of dollars in debt, yet we can still find billions of dollars to send people to space,it doesn't matter if we find anything,it's not going to help us get through us regular peoples lives. amirite?

Yet we also spend trillions of dollars on war and weapons. At least space exploration is innovative.

Do you even know how much of your daily life depends on satellites? Cell phones, GPS's, the weather. All sorts of things, that we wouldn't have if it weren't for NASA. Besides, after a while we're gonna have to find a new home other that Earth.

it doesn't matter if we have all of this stuff, sure it's convienent, but the trillions of dollars could be used for the people.

And its gonna stay that way for a long time. We've been in debt for who knows how long and it's almost impossible to escape because we owe so much... That's my opinion at least.

wooow...NASA's getting canceled guys....sorry to burst your bubble...so the first man on Mars will not be an American...sadly :(

America is trillions of dollars in debt, and we still think it's a good idea to spend trillions more on "stimulus" money... that hasn't done any good. Space is not the problem here. They just reported that the first family made some obscene amount of money this year. Why doesn't our holier-than-thou leader donate some of his buckets of money to the debt of our (apparently like it or not) superpower country.
