Took my dog to get her shots about five years ago when she was a pup and has never been to the vet since then.

give that bitch a shot bitches love shots

The same usually applies with cats. My cat is 18 and has never been to the vet, meanwhile other people I know have taken their cats to the vet every year and didn't live as long.

Same! Except my cat is 14 (soon to be 15) and only has been to the vet twice since we've had her. First time was to get her spaded and the second was in 2010 because she got ring worm. She still goes around killing poor birds and chasing rabbits.

Aww haha mine still catches our mice, yeah and mine was spaded when she was a kitten, but that was a long long time ago and apart from that she hasn't been to a vet.

Well wouldn't you expect a human who visits the doctor when they're told they need a checkup and then doesn't go back to live longer than a human who's checking into the hospital every other month?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's probably because those people who go to the doctor every month worry too much and die early because of stress related health problems.

You're supposed to go get a check up every other month? Really? Wow, I've only ever gone once when I was really little.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ummm... you're supposed to get a check up once a year. I've gone every summer for the required checkups, but my dad hasn't seen the doctor for seven years. He's perfectly healthy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh.. Yeah, same as your dad. I'm perfectly healthy and haven't been to a doctor since I was around 3 (I am currently 14)

Never? Puppies need to have vaccinations.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is so true. Vets make their money by telling people to keep visiting them and making sure that their pets have "proper vaccinations." But then the dogs get all sick from all of these drugs people keep stuffing into them that eventually it becomes too much. The same goes for people. You take a medication, and you need 3 others to go along with it because of the side effects. Before you know it, you're taking 10 pills a day. How do you think animals survive in nature? Do they take vaccinations? Nope. The dogs (and cats) that eat healthy and live natural lives are the ones that live the longest. I believe that animals can use their own immune systems to fight off diseases. They don't need man-made ones.
