-518 China has so many people it's not even a country anymore, it's a continent. A lot of people won't want to accept this because they can't handle change but technically its true. amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Population doesn't define what a continent is, tard.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Antartica is a continent. No people live there.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

1) Ummmm yes they do, it's not a first world county but that doesn't mean people don't live there. The jungle isn't a country either, does that mean nobody lives there? 2) antactica and australia are technically part of Oceana. Read a book.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The point is, the amount of people doesn't make a continent.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow. You must have flunked out of school. Everybody knows that. ono

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Apparently the person who posted before me flunked out too, right?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Conventionally, "continents are understood to be large, continuous, discrete masses of land, ideally separated by expanses of water."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's theoretically but not technically. ANd whether or not they flnked out they're gay. So, what?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow someone is ignorant..

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who, you?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

ono@1181978 (burnagaininja): ono

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is so true I can't even

by Anonymous 12 years ago

con·ti·nent   /ˈkɒntnənt/ –noun 1. one of the main landmasses of the globe, usually reckoned as seven in number (Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Australia, and Antarctica). Also, the average gay man has a higher IQ than the average straight man. Also, Oceania is not a continent. Also, you're being dumb.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I feel the need to say this: 1) There are no permanent residents in Antarctica. The only people who reside there are scientists and researchers. Additionally, Antarctica is not even a country, so there is no way to classify it as first world or third world country. It has people there from all over the world, but no indigenous population. As for your argument about the jungle, you do realize that jungles are part of other countries right? There might not be a country called the Amazon Rainforest, but when you are in the Amazon Rainforest, you are in Brazil, which is a country. 2) Uh, no it's not. At this point, I'm going to assume you meant "Oceania," since Oceana is not a place. Secondly, this area includes islands in the tropical Pacific Ocean. Examples include Australia and New Zealand. However, Oceania is neither a continent or a country. It is simply a region. In conclusion, maybe you should read a book.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or OP just has flawed logic. Really flawed logic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Or OP is a troll that has been on this site for months. Just look at his account and posts.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But yah China definitely isn't its own continent, the only country that is also a continent is Australia and that's the smallest continent in the worlds. China IS a large country with a very large population but that factor in no way makes it a continent.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

As burnagaininja said...either way, you're gay. Therefore your argument is invalid.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Come on guys, don't you study tectonic plate maps? China is CLEARLY at a plate boundary, which sort of makes it a continent, the same way Europe is a continent. Plus, you take the population thing into account, and it's completely a continent. I agree with this poster. http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/infopage/tectonic.gif

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Australia and India share the same tectonic plate. They're not considered in the same continent. Europe is a continent. Asia is a continent. They're both on the same plate, but they're considered two separate continents. The Pacific Ocean is not a continent because it's a tectonic plate. Neither is the Nazca plate. So... In your logic: no

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Haha I was trolling. I'm a geology major, I don't actually believe this and felt like using bullshit logic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Doesn't informing people that you're trolling kind of defeat the purpose?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You should pursue a career in demographics

by Anonymous 12 years ago

wait....

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Kill it with fire before it reproduces!!1!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Now that you mention it, I guess china is actually a continent.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think China's more leaning toward the "country" side. Not a continent.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Who made the mistake of calling it a country ?! Flawless logic.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I disagree. And it's not that I can't handle change, it's because this is just so poorly thought through I'm almost beside myself with laughter.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

con·ti·nent/ˈkäntn-ənt/ Noun: Any of the world's main continuous expanses of land (Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America). You are an idiot.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So what is your reasoning for changing the definition of continent? And I think what saxybandgeek meant about people living in Antarctica is that people don't naturally live there, they only live there to do research.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I dont have enough faces, or palms for this post.

Trolling.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You might as well start to say India's about to become a continent for its population. While you're at it, say every human being is a continent for the population of bacteria on everyone's skin.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

or saying the sun's a continent because it's bigger than Australia.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They're starting to call India a subcontinent due to it's population, size, and location.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

India's already a subcontinent :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm not sure you know what the word "continent" means.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

"because they can't handle change" Golden

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm pretty sure a continent has something to do with the formation of tectonic plates, not the population...
