+312 So, a guy can fit two of every animal on a boat he made and that plausible. But evolution, wow. That's some crazy-ass idea! amirite?

I think the stories in the bible are just lessons. I'm not someone who'll read the bible and believe every word of it. I mean it's clear that each story teaches something, but those stories, at least in my opinion, aren't necessarily TRUE stories. Maybe Noah didn't actually build an ark with two of each animal, but you should still take what the story teaches you and apply it to your life.

Even if stories like Noah aren't true, they're based on fact. Historians have proved there was a great flood in Early B.C. times.

also the boat described in genesis is proven to be most likely to survive the huge waves that would come from such a flood. Also every story in the bible (as far as I'm aware) is backed up by actual evidence.

I just find it hard to believe that two of every animal could fit and survive on one boat. In my opinion, i don't think the bible was meant to be taken literally.

first, it was 2 of the animals they couldn't eat, and 7 of the animals they could. Second, based on the dimensions of the ark they would have all fit. So if you put a ton of straw and have all these animals you and the other animals can eat, why couldn't they survive?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because there are SO many species on the planet. I dont see how they could fit so many animals in one space.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You are so dumb girl, the flood that covered the whole earth has already been proven, and the only way for humanity and land animals would have survived is if they didn't drown first! Evolution is a theory that has been disproven many a times

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Religion has been disproven many a time too....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don`t recall mentioning religion in my post

by Anonymous 13 years ago

chillax, it was a joke. i am christian, I do believe in God. I was just kidding around when people say thats omething that is a logical idea such as evolution is asolutely and utterly insane and yet people believe in other things that are more insane. don't take it literally.

Where did the water come from, exactly? Space? The same amount of water that existed on the planet 10,000 years ago is still here, minus the small amount that we've taken into space and maybe left there. Evolution is not a theory, are you retarded? Giraffes used to have shorter necks, the ones with short necks died out because the ones with longer necks were able to eat more and easier. It's a long process of helpful mutations persevering.

The thing is, he brought on two of every kind of animal, not two of every species.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This. Two animals of every kind would not even take up half of the space in the ark. You have to take into consideration that he didn't have to take any fish or instects, only animals that breathe through nostrils, and he would obviously only brought young animals into the ark. http://creation.com/how-could-noah-get-all-the-animals-on-the-ark

I'm a strong Christian, and I'll even admit that some of the stories in the Bible seem a tad bit exaggerated. Like someone said above, it could be meant to be taken literally. But that's a part of faith - draw your own conclusions from it, but to me, it just demonstrates how powerful and amazing God is. That's me though. Whatever you believe is fine - I don't judge. But at least be respectful and research both sides. You might not believe in God, but that doesn't give you a right to act high, mighty and cynical.

Two of every type of animal, then natural selection applies afterward.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

comments are unnecessary because the Catholic church believes in evolution. It IS in fact possible to believe both happened

by Anonymous 13 years ago

its possible to believe the sky is green, but just because you believe it doesn`t make it fact.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Did you know they found a boat in a mountain in like Asia or something that was frozen there and supposed to be similar to the boat Noah built?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there are over 4 million types of animals,,,a Aircraft carrier couldnt carry them... Its a story!!! do the numbers do minimum cage size,,food, and then there's the whole fact of repopulation by incest...nice..

The story is just that, a story. The bible says that they lived for 190 days on that arc. An elephant alone eats 150 pounds of food a day. With two elephants alone, not even considering the other animals, it's a stretch to think that 300 pounds of food(not to mention drinking water) for 190 days could fit on a 75 foot long arc. It's sad that people have such fear in their mortality that they will believe things that are so obviously impossible. Take religion for what it is, faith. Trying to back up your faith with science is pathetic and futile.
