There seems to be more people in church on Easter and Christmas, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yep that is what you call C and E Christians.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Hahah yeah! My family calls them that, too.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ya I know a lot of people who do. Although I changed it from Catholics to Christians, it's the same difference.

Nothing in the Bible says you need to go to church. It says you must belong to the church, meaning you need to have a religion. And with how corrupt a majority of churches are nowdays, its better for you to not go and just read the bible for yourself. And then if you don't understand something, pray about it.
More people go on Christmas and Easter because of the significance of the day. Not to be fake.

Bible fail:
Hebrews 10:24, 25:
"[24] And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[25] Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Notice.. We are instructed NOT to forsake gathering together.

But with the increasing number of false prophets in the church, reading the bible for yourself is a wise choice.

Unless your a mormon, we dont' have modern day prophets. And many of us DO read the bible by ourselves. We just do both.

Prophets translates to preachers and other religious leaders to me, in my interpretation.

There are some, but not ALL churches are corrupt. It's really not hard to locate one near you that follows your beliefs.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm not talking about beliefs, but rather the quality of the sermon and how the preacher presents hinself. Many of them are hypocritical and use the word to project their own agendas.

Your corrupt comment is like 500-700 years late. If anything, the Church is declining with more and more secularization due to new discoveries and technology. Yes, there are some bad churches and pastors (including the one in my parish), but the Church is actually pretty dang better than their radical ways in the Middle Ages.

Maybe I need a new church then.

I call them creasters

I call them CEOs. Christmas Easter Only. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's what people at my church call them. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
Obviously....
by Anonymous13 years ago
My old pastor called them bi-annual Christians.

It's kind of annoying when some of them come just for the egg hunt. especially when they just show up for the egg hunt and don't even have the curteousy to attend the service like everyone else.

That's me :|
by Anonymous13 years ago
A large church in my area gave away a car to a person who attended their Easter service.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I think they are missing the point of going to church...
