+491 Whether you're a "treehugger" or not, throwing your garbage everywhere is unacceptable. Missing the trash can or recycling receptacle is forgivable, but tossing your rubbish on the ground because you're slothful is appalling behaviour. We should take pride in keeping our communities at least somewhat clean, otherwise we may litterally end up living in a dump, amirite?

"Ya no more dead cops!" lol I was just watching that movie and this post reminded me of that so I thought I would say it. Good post btw

I'm one of those guys that believes global warming is NOT manmade, and hippies and treehuggers can go fuck themselves, but I totally agree. It's pretty disgusting in some places.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What do you believe causes it then?

cycles the earth has gone through and have been proved to exist before man ever walked the earth?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

So all the CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions have absolutely nothing to do with it?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

like digging a hole to the center of the earth, technically yes it does. Big enough for an impact that we can notice? Nope. The only abnormal changes in temperature are due to the heat-island effect (I get the name right?) Yea, there are places like Alaska that are getting hotter, but that's the cycle. But if you wanna look at like Cali or NY, that's just due to people living there. Records show that non-rural areas have little to no change in temperate. More likely the latter.

..rual areas = cars? cars = pollution and co2 which = global warming?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

why would it be only in one spot? Theres holes in the ozone layer that only stay over a city? you go 50 miles out of a popular city and the temperature drops dramatiicaly. Thats a pretty dam impressive and specific global warming spot, considering car use within a 50 mile radius of a city doesn't die down much at all.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yeah...isn't that pollution? " you go 50 miles out of a popular city and the temperature drops dramatiicaly"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

it's the heat island effect. That isn't pollution. Pollution doesn't die out within a 50 mile radius, like I mentioned. London, during the Industrial Revolution, was polluted for at least hundreds of miles away. It wasn't a heat thing, like this is.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

no I'm saying like all the pollution happening in the city has made that specific part (where the city is) hotter, acid rain, etc doesn't this play a role in the atmosphere?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ugh are you even reading what I'm typing? It's not pollution. If it WAS pollution, it would expand outside the city, when it obviously isn't.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not saying there isn't pollution, there is plenty. Like how I agree with the post. Sort of like smog, that affects the atmosphere. Now, enough to make a hole in the ozone and heat up the area? No, that's the heat island effect, and it's been proved.
