Just because a song is upbeat doesn't mean it's not depressing. In my opinion, it is a depressing song.

Adam Levine makes everything a little less depressing. But yeah the song's pretty sad.
It's a depressing song either way, but the beat does make it a little better.
The music video makes it exponentially more amusing, though.
