+375 It's weird that states have commercials. You shouldn't have to advertise things like Mt. Rushmore and the Grand Canyon, amirite?

I always see a commercial that advertises Michigan as a vacation spot. If I'm gonna go on vacation, it sure as he'll ain't gonna be Michigan.

Cute little black kid: Thas PURE Michigan! C'mon how can you resist that?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Easily!

I suppose. At least you don't live in Michigan like me. I am constantly yelling at my television, "BITCH, I AM NOT GOING TO VACATION IN MY DRIVEWAY."

I live in Ohio, which is basically Michigan. It's nice to live here, but nobody who doesn't live here would ever want to vist :P

I went to Ohio once. I saw Arnold Schwarzenegger.

California's was awesome the first time I saw it.

Well tourism is a huge way for states to make money. Where I grew up only survived because of tourism, so it actually makes a lot of sense to me that they would advertise the vacation spots and whatnot.

I see your point, but it's not like anyone is going to go because of a commercial. Like the Jamaica commercials. It's just how it stays the same except the hearts and souls of the people in it. They didn't even say something cool that was worth going for. Like, I might go to Florida because they advertised they had Busch gardens, but not cuz they were like "BEACHES AND OLD PEOPLE". I think it just depends onhow stupid the commecial is.

I dunno, I would think that if it didn't work they wouldn't do it, you know? I've never been anywhere except North Dakota though, so I wouldn't really know. But they do the same thing here, in Canada, I think.

No way I was just talking about this today with my brothers. Cause I live in Minnesota and we saw a Minnesota commercial... Uh I live here?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

with the way that education is going, kids aren't going to know what states are even near theirs

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's American capitalism for ya.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Neither of those are states, but I get your point

You think commercials about states are stupid? I just watched a commercial about pork. PORK. Not even a specific brand, just pork in general. Honestly, how inspired do you want me to be when cooking dead pigs?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I live in South Dakota and you wouldn't believe how many people think that Mount Rushmore is in Montana.
