Americans are all like "hey, we hav to lern 50 states!!1 so stop teling me to lern mor about other country's!!!" Dear Americans, I can name the 50 states and all the countries in this planet. Will you now stop being ignorant and learn about the outside world? No? You won't? Well, to be honest, I didn't expect you to stop being ignorant ever. It's part of your culture, amirite?
BITCH PLEASE
how the fuck could you possibly learn the names of the hundreds of countries in the world? Maybe a good quarter of them, but I doubt you can learn them ALL....btw, america hates you too
I'm 16 and our class had to learn all of the countries in the world last week, with their capitals. We also needed to be able to situate them on a map. I'm not saying I'm now able to give all of them, but at least a good 80%.
To be fair, I didn't have to study the different states, but it can't be that hard.
There are only about 192 countries in the world, it's very possible to be able to name all of them. If you spend enough time playing games on spocle, you'll learn be able to list them all too.
ME TOO. It's amazing. I could spend my life on it.
I'm adding you too!
By not being ignorant. The same way you can learn the 50 states you can learn countries.
And I don't give a fuck about Americans' thoughts about me.
well if you're so sure of yourself, then go ahead and name all the countries
It doesn't matter whether they can name them all here, we can't prove that they didn't just copy and paste but whatever, S/he is just a rude bigoted troll.
I hope you realize that the United States has in some way helped every single country that you claim to know.
So you can go ahead and troll, but whatever country you're from, it has benefitted from the help of the US.
Technically you can say that about every country in the world. Chinese people have helped people in Honduras. How? Well, some immigrated there and set up business. Your point is invalid.
@1220017 (Anonymous): wow... if knowing all the countries in the world is the only thing you can pride yourself on, then you are one very sad person
I honestly can't think of anyone who complains about having to learn the states. That's just strange
Maybe you should learn to not take stereotypes to seriously. By believing this, you are the one being ignorant. Also there is way you can name all the countries in the world, there are almost 200.
at the end of the day, the names are just words. Most people who have been through school know 75,000 words. Learning another 200 wouldn't be that difficult :)
@1220789 (SurveyYeah): You're right, it is possible. but the majority of people can not name all of them, and knowing their names does not mean you necessarily know anything about them. Although I do see how it could be cool/ useful to know, I am actually trying to learn the countries in Africa because I don't know most of the countries there. but my overall point is that knowing names of countries does not necessarily make you less ignorant about those countries. Like you said, the names are just words.
i did that last year for africa...every country, river, mountain range, capital, desert...you get the point....it took me around 2-3 days maybe studying an hour and a half each day
I don't see how it's not possible?
America is a melting pot to all people, opening its arms to every nation in world (Minus Cuba). American culture is a BLEND OF EVERY CULTURE. Saying that being ignorant is a part of our culture is attacking everyone, including yourself. I don't care where you are from.
It is not a necessity to know every single country in the world, but if someone says "I was in Alabama yesterday," you should probably know what they are talking about. But if someone says "I was in Yemen last week," odds are they won't be really offended if you don't know where that is (Arabian Peninsula). I've never heard anyone complain about learning the states. I could name all the states and their capitals by 5th grade. It is not difficult.
Look, I don't care if you know every country. No one else does. You aren't cool, and stereotyping Americans makes you look like a dick.
well said
As a canadian I find it interesting that you actually used the term "melting pot". Here we are taught that america is the melting pot because they take people from all different cultures and pretty much convert them into americans. We like to compare ourselves to a "mixed salad" as we are tolerant of all cultures and everyone gets to continue their culture and traditions here, while living in unity.
I'm not saying americans are evil or anything, maybe just a little too proud.
(:-)): they actually changed 'melting pot' to 'tossed salad' here. their reason was because when you put things into a stew, they all start to have the same flavor, but when they're in a salad, they maintain their individuality while still being unified. as you can see, america has a political correctness problem.
Minus Cuba? Really? Try walking through downtown Miami.
Certain countries run by tyrants won't let their citizens leave (Cuba, North Korea), but the US is very acceptive to escapees. For example look at all the Cuban players in Major League Baseball.
I'm from America.
I am not ignorant.
I do care about geography.
I care about my education.
And I actually love this country.
So please stop making generalizations.
Thanks.
Wait... there's a world outside America? Whoa.
I'm Australian and even I'm offended.
I give an "A" for trolling effort there.
Obvious troll is obvious, but I like to argue.
I am an American. I have an iq of 146. I deal with stupid people every day, and trust me, I don't like it any more than the next guy. America is crap. Every other country is crap too. No matter how smart you think you are, you are still an idiot, and that applies to everyone in the world. As a species, we know maybe 0.0001% of all information, and blaming the stupidity on someone else is a natural human instinct. This is more of a pride thing than an intelligence thing, and most people get pissed when others claim to be better. Because the US is prideful of their country, as opposed to England being prideful of their queen (just read the title of their national anthem) we will generally boast about out country being better. It's great that you can name every single state and country, but that is a trivial thing, very few jobs will require that. So yeah, Americans are idiots, and so is everyone else, simple as that.
just a general point on this thread: IQ means nothing in the real world. :)
I know that knowing the countries may not be that useful, but in my school we were taught about every single country. In the USA throughout 16 years of obligatory education, they never even mention a single time countries like San Marino, Palau, Eritrea, etc.
Your point? I have never heard anybody complain about the state learning, and if I recall correctly, Eritrea is in Africa close to Ethiopia. You can't continue the argument by restating your post, therefore, your argument is invalid
Also, if you're the OP, learn to spell. It seriously destroys the post in a hilariously ironic way
Yeah, it's done on purpose. I think most non-Americans understood it though.
I'm pretty sure the spelling errors were deliberate...
You're absolutely sure you have an IQ of 146? (Which, by the way isn't that impressive) You don't seem to understand the concept of irony.
(TheDoctor.): They might not have that IQ, but that IS impressive if they do. Apparently average is 100 (I find that hard to beleive mine is in the 130's and I'm not that smart) but IF they do that means theres is 46% higher than average. Impressive.
Yeah, I have my suspicions that the authorities made up the figure of 100 to make everyone feel smarter.
(TheDoctor.): ORRRR a bunch of stupid people wanted to know how smart they were and fucked with the actual average.
That's probably more likely, but I'm fond of my conspiracy theory.
(TheDoctor.): That IQ makes them a certified genius... I find that impressive.
In other words, you're ignorant. Instead of saying that, just say you're ignorant. Takes less time, and is the truth.
Knowing the names of all the countries doesn't mean jack -squat. It certainly doesn't make you smart. If I can name 200 kinds of insects, does that make me intelligent? No, it means I can memorize things. It DOESN'T EVEN prove you have accurate knowledge about these countries. You can name all 200 countries and I can name only 7 outside of the U.S.. But say I've been to all seven of these countries and have experienced their culture, natural life etc - Who is more ignorant of the outside world? The person who knows the names or the person who actually has knowledge about the countries they've been? Judging an entire country on whether they know a map is ridiculous, IMO.
So wait, is it expected to know every single country by heart? The fuck.
Plus, I think some Americans know so little about other countries because we're so isolated over here. There are two other large countries nearby. That's it.
I agree with your point, but there are other countries, like Australia, where if you could drive forever and you wouldn't leave the country, and yet Australia doesn't have a reputation for being ignorant.
But you see, this is the thing. Americans go on about having to learn all the stuff there is in their country, because it's a massive country. Sure, it is a massive country, but that means that Americans don't get educated that there's a country in existence called Palau? Okay, not knowing if it's next to Fiji or Hawaii is mildly acceptable, but having never heard of it is pathetic. Most Americans have never heard of that country.
100% of Americans have heard about Fiji
More like 88%. And I was talking about Palau, not Fiji.
Was not clear. It is assumed you are reffering to the last thing you said. and 88%? ok...
As an American, I sincerely apologize for not being taught about other countries. Our bad.
I learn about things outside of school that I care about
Yes, you can learn anything you need, but most people don't need to know about this, or need to be able to list every country in the world. I know what I need to know, and Anything I don't know that I need to know, I find out.
The same way you can remember hundreds of people you can remember countries. And there are not hundreds of countries.
Is your brain too small to remember 203 names? And when "hundreds" is used, it usually refers to at 300–500.
The word 'hundreds' is plural- indicating two or more of an object.
GUYS. you're seriously arguing about the definition of "hundreds"? WTF.
Welcome to the internet.
Oh yes, knowing the countries name has to do with knowing about them. If you want Americans to learn about the outside world, perhaps you should set us an example
Most times when you can name a country, you know something about it.
Not sure if you're saying you don't or I don't, but this is the internet, so this whole thing can't really be proven because of Google. However, if you go to your average American and ask them wtf Senegal is, they won't know. If you ask your average American on ther internet, 30% won't know, 60% will Google information and 10% will have known a bit about it already.
I'd like to know where you get your statistics.
Yeah. When you name a country, you know the name of the country. Therefore you know something about that country.
99% of people in this planet who can name a select country know about it. In case you are doubting, I am referring not the to 1%.
Following stereotypes, I see! America may seem like a self-absorbed country, but we are separated from Asia and Europe by the Atlantic and Pacific! When we travel from the E to the W 2000 miles, we we're still in our country! From Maine, you can travel to Florida and be in the tropics (cheaper than traveling to another cont.) You can go to the mid-western states and get a whole new culture than when you go to L.A, NYC, or Alaska. In Europe, if you're from France, why not travel to Germany and learn the culture? It's right next door. Our only neighbors are Canada, and they have a similar culture to us and speak English. Then there is Mexico, and most Americans have taken Spanish, or at least know the basics. I know plenty of geography. I took a two-year course in HS called GLOBAL HISTORY! As for ppl knowing our states, the U.S. gets a lot of exposure in this world. For a self-absorbed place we sure give TONS of aid. Some say we should mind our OWN affairs more!
OP has a point. Imo, Americans seem more inwardly focused on their own country than they need to be. I understand patriotism, but knowing the rest of the world is an important thing. The Americans have spoken with make themselves and their country look sooo stupid eg: when I speak about Denmark and they like "is that in Africa?"
The American geography department needs more funding...this much is clear.
why would the american geography department even be a thing? We are too busy funding the ass kicking department.
Definitely something to be proud of. America: A rich legacy of war and hollywood.
Grand.
Please, PLEASE tell me you're joking about America's "rich legacy of war." Historically, Europe has been one of the most war-torn places on Earth, owing to the close proximity of clashing cultures and ideals.
(Procrastinator):yeah, except Europeans don't brag about being ass-kickers...rival22x proved my point beautifully.
Okay so let me get this straight... It's perfectly fine for everyone else to make fun of Americans, but the second someone jokes about America kicking ass it's us bragging and being ignorant?
So you're saying that if you're American you are not allowed to be patriotic?
Every School needs a properly funded ass-kicking department :D
Anyone who thinks Denmark is in Africa is too dumb to function.
why are you saying they? Are we all one person now? Because as Americans we get a chance to be educated, and we do learn about other countries. And if you are saying being patriotic is so bad then you can shove that flag of yours up your ass. If you are going to jusdge america as a They then I can call you an ignorant butt raping douche that killed a disabled cat and drank blood. Because different people have done it but if you are judging a country then I guess everyone in each country is one. Though the ignorant and douche part is actually true, but I dont want to judge your country because that would be an insult to the actual good people there.
Name all the countries then.
You can name all your countries? Good for you, I could do that when I was 12. I can also name the captials and largest cities.
Now tell me everything you know about the culture of all those countries.
The maximum amount of characters allowed in a comment is 500, I can't help you sorry. And as I said, it can't really be proved from the internet. I'm sure the user above had no fucking idea where Eritrea was and just 'discovered' it. If you asked me in real life, any country, I could prove it, but asking through the internet is pointless. And I doubt you would get a flight costing US$1,000+ to ask me a question.
We had a test where we had to fill in the world map in 8th grade. My entire school knows the world map. It isn't that hard, you just need tricks. Like how Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are in alphabetical order
I hate the 'America is isolated, so we only need to know about our own country' excuse. I'd say Australia is far more isolated, and I haven't seen anyone using that excuse here.
Maybe because everyone calls Americans ignorant and not Australians? If there was a popular stereotype that Australians were ignorant then you can bet your ass that that excuse would be used.
Australians aren't ignorant. Or most of them.
It's not only about the isolation. It's that it is logical and cheap to travel within our own large borders where there are different climates and geography and greatly varying cultures. It's not that America is ignoring other countries (again most think we involve ourselves too much). It's that other countries focus on US too much, and we get a lot of exposure and scrutiny. I don't think there is a country more scrutinized and speculated over.
I've never seen an Australian person attacked for being ignorant before
-4/10
What? Definitely a lot higher than that. I say 7/10.
Because learning all fifty states and 203 countries is both a productive use of time and vital piece of information needed to succeed in the world, despite the fact that with modern technology any one of them can be looked up in seconds, any time, anywhere.
Amirite?
pub quizzes!!
If you've got haters, you're doing something right
and it's obvious that America is doing something right, suck on that, bitch.
here all the nations of the world
if you dont know this you weren't born in the 90s in which case stop being ignorant
Thank you for that video. I wanted to link to it. I love that video. What the fuck sort of country is called "Carribean"? I have never heard of that country, not sure about you. Puerto Rico isn't a country. There is no country called San Juan. Bermuda isn't a country. Tobago isn't a country, its name is Trinidad and Tobago. French Guiana isn't a country. Guam isn't a country. Czechoslovakia isn't a country. Scotland isn't a country (sovereign state). The "Yemens" are now one country. Kampuchea is no longer a country. Asia isn't a country. Tibet isn't a country. New Guinea isn't a country. Sumatra isn't a country. Borneo isn't a country. Tanzania no longer exists. Algier isn't the correct name. Dahomey hasn't existed since the fucking 19th century. Congo isn't the correct name for those two countries. Mayore isn't the correct name. Caiman isn't the correct name. Hong Kong isn't a country. Abu Dhabi isn't a country. Yugoslavia isn't a country. Etc. There you go.
Gag me.
I don't get it. If they wanted to make a giant proclamation so bad why make themselves anonymous?
Is it supposed to be ironic how you commented anonymously? And I have actually made about 10 controversial posts reaching the top ranked. I don't care about anonimity.
This post is full of irony. My english teacher would love it.
Dude, it's supposed to be a joke on Americans being stupid. If you realize, any other fragments of the post are grammatically correct.
I'm an American, and I'm not exactly sure what everyone is talking about, because in SIXTH grade I had WORLD GEOGRAPHY class. While we didn't learn something about each specific country, we did learn all the countries in each continent, some general history, etc. This was a while ago, so I haven't retained all of the knowledge, but it's definitely not because our culture is ignorant or our education system is lacking.
Yeah, I learned about that in third grade because of my state (stricter on learning young)
I realize this is just an attempt at trolling, but can I point out that I know every country in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, and I'm only thirteen? South America's next. Australia is both a continent and country, and Antarctica is a continent with no countries inside of it because of the fact there are no inhabitants besides scientists. I can recite all fifty states and place them on a map.
Oh, and I'm American, asshole.
Wrong, scientists in Antarctica aren't inhabitants of it.
Yeah they are, just not permanent inhabitants.
I'd be much more impressed if you actually knew about the culture and history of each country. I could sit down one day and memorize the names of 300 different diseases, but unless I knew what each one resulted in, it'd be useless. It wouldn't make me a doctor, just like you're not an expert on geography.
Umm... excuse me? Ms. Bitch? Not all americans are ignorant. You are. Thank-you. Now piss off.
Way to be a bitch, anon. First of all, I'm pretty sure bad spelling is not the problem of 300 million people all packed into one country, it's all around the world. Second, I had all my states memorized by 4th grade, in alphabetical order, with their capitals. I can also name multiple countries off the top of my head because, I dunno, all ninth graders (at least in my school district) take world geo where they learn most countries and their capitals, along with geographical features. Third, our culture? Yeah, it's partially taken from your culture. Thanks, bye.
As an American, I am often disturbed and disappointed by the ignorance and xenophobia of many of my fellow countrymen. But you, sir, just look like a jackass. That, or a successful troll.
inb4.... crap.
TROLOLOLOL
i kno riiiiite D: wutsa contrie it sonds like a tipe of fruit taht's yuckly :( :( :(
I agree that many Americans are like this, but please don't generalize. I don't think that just memorizing all of the countries in the world is useful, but at least knowing where it is and a little bit about it is a fantastic skill.
P.S. You execute your amirites in such a trollish manner! It might even guilt some Americans into studying more.
lol troll harder
trolololololol!
That is soooo weeeeird!!! U r lyke, so obvi not Americannn, but u, lyk, kno evrythingg about us!! It is sooooooo koool!!!
You need to learn how to troll properly.
Bitch shut up. What you said is useless. Just like this kid in my math class. He knows 275 digits of pi. It's impressive but uselesss.
I'm american, and i can say the whole alphabet backwards. I spent a lot of time practicing and now i'm really good at it.
Congratulations?
thanks, i kind of take a lot of pride in that skill
You should. I too am an American that has mastered the art of backwards alphabet receiting. I can feel this bond between us because of that connection.
You are the definition of ignorant. You can't generalize a whole nation like that. Knowing the names of countries doesn't necessarily mean you know or care about them anyway.
You're such a dumbass, it's hilarious. Your spelling makes you more ignorant than ANY American. And we have to learn countries, too, cupcake.
Honestly, YOU are the ignorant one for categorizing all Americans as the same. I don't give a damn if you can name all countries (which I doubt you can). You can rant all you want, but it will only make you look more bitter. Personally, I think that usually the ones who hate on America the most are just jealous. So have a seat and grow up, thank you.
If they were a follower of Bin Ladin, they'd probably be busy tryna kill people and blow up planes, not writing posts on Amirite. :P
LOL U MAD.
I think you mean http://myfacewhen.com/105/
You wanna know something hilarious?
The ignorant ass Americans, you hate so much, saved many a countries ass during times of need.
We still do.
Can you even name the fifty states in America?
Oh? No? How about you get educated.
America? Are you referring to the Americas? The Americas don't have 50 sovereign states.
After reading most of these comments I dearly hope most everyone here are not this retarded in real life. If so, this whole world (stupid americans or not) is totally fucked...
Excuuuuse me? I am American, and I am minoring in geography. You know, just because you can recite all of the names of the countries of the world does not mean you know anything about them.
Read above. Normally when one can name a country they can mention facts about it. I can do that. Also, you're majoring in geography, so I sincerely hope you know all the countries in the world. I doubt you do though. Comoros? Yes, that is a country you've never heard of.
I would not be so quick to jump to conclusions good sir, as I do know all of the countries in the world. Most geography classes you take in college require you to know all the countries in the region you are studying, and I have taken at least basic classes about all regions of the world. Oh and by the way I am minoring in geography as I said before. I think your problem is that you so want to believe that all Americans are ignorant, and will just not accept that many of us are actually very well informed.
Just because you can name all the countries in the world doesn't mean YOUR NOT ignorant too. because, from what i can tell, you can obviously name the usa on a map, but ignorant to the fact that just because stereotypes say we're ignorant, doesn't mean we all are.
and btw. I just took a georgraphy exam, and we had to list the countries, sooo yeah I know most of them too.
*You're. Enough said.
Learn how to spell and use correct grammer before you go calling other people ignorant.
*Grammar.
The spelling in the post in the quotation marks are supposed to represent Americans. Notice how the rest is written well.
You have no business generalizing the American population like this. This is not stating an opinion, but instead a direct attempt to offend around three hundred million people.
Being ignorant is not a part of our culture. We have many organizations that are dedicated towards aiding underprivileged countries and those in need. One of the most important American values is the willingness to help others, and stating otherwise is simply an infringement of the truth.
All of you were whining too much... Everyone at my middle school had to memorize every country and large physical feature (rivers, lakes, mountain ranges, deserts, etc.) in 7th grade. If stupid little American 12-year-olds can do this, anyone can. It's not difficult.
Most Americans have taken a few geography courses in their schooling career, so they have studied alot of countries around the world and know about them. In 9th grade I had a semester of world geography where we used a college textbook to learn not only about where all the countries of the world are, but also all about their cultures and we had to name all of the major waters, landforms, and cities plus the capitals in addition to the country name in the right location on our map quizzes...so you're wrong....
Hey, haters gonna hate! :D and people wonder why we don't have world peace... 3^
How can you have world peace when you don't even know with which countries you have peace and with which not?
Of course this Gaylord went anonymous.
Oh and we killed bin laden. So suck it bitch.
What did your country do?
Overall, I reckon Bin Laden is in the lead.
You killed bin Laden, who killed a fuckload of Americans. He wins.
Ouch. That was too far.
Just because it's about America doesn't mean it's not racist.
We have arguably influenced the world in the past 100 years than any other country. Your little EU thing? That was because of the Marshall Plan, initiated by the UNITED STATES's Secretary of State. The internet that you're using? Probably wouldn't be nearly as good without AMERICAN influence.
Uhm, I'm not European. Fail.
Secondly, those people you have in your country? Most of them are from Europe or Africa or Asia... The only people who are originally American are the Native Americans, for whom no one in the USA has respect. The USA is a country made up of immigrants, so your point is invalid.
Correction: The majority of us were born here in the U.S. and therefore aren't immigrants. Just people of European, African or Asian descent. Race and nationality are two different things. Personally, I don't think I'm any less American than a Native American. I was born here too.
European/African/etc. descent. That's the whole point. It's a country made up of immigrants.
America was 'created' through immigration but the majority of us aren't immigrants. The majority of us aren't from Africa or Asia or Europe. Most of us are American (born and raised here), and our ethnicity doesn't change that fact. I respect immigrants, but I don't think I'm any less American because I'm not Native American.
You are a dumbass. An immigrant is someone who permantantly moves to another country, THEREFORE, I am not an immigrant just because my ancestors were.
I'm pretty sure im not European or anything considering i was born in America, my mom and dad were, my grand parents, my great grandparents, and my great great grandparents. Stop being such an asshole- your just jealous of America since they killed Bin Laden and how here were free unlike in your foregin crap countries.
You can't say 'were free unlike in your foregin crap countries'. Firstly, most of that's spelt incorrectly. Secondly, are you seriously trying to say America is the only free country in the world?
First rule of the internet: If you can't find a valid point to retaliate with, begin with insulting your opponent's grammar!
Also, arguing over the internet about random countries is a productive use of time, will surely change things in the world and in no way completely pointless in the slightest.
Dude, you have to remember, this is the internet. Most of the internet is pointless and amirite.net is about arguing in posts.
I do like following the rules of the internet. Also, I know it's not a productive use of time, however I'm bored and merely wished to reply to something I felt was wrong. I assume this is allowed?
k .
We respect our natives. That's why we give them full-ride scholarships to Dartmouth, an Ivy-League university, even when they have a 21 ACT score and 3.0 GPA. Also, for a country made up of immigrants, we are doing one hell of a lot better than most countries, especially when you consider the fact that our land should have doomed us.
I see it as you're either from Australia, Canada, or South Africa. Congratulations. You either have negligible influence on the world, or live in the country with the highest rape per capita (among countries they were able to measure.)
Also, no offense to my e-homies in Oz or the 51st state. Just to this anon.
I don't call throwing Native-Americans in reserves "respect"
I'm not from either of those countries. Maybe you should learn all the countries. Oh wait, you're American.
Sure, you might be doing better than Australia as for immigrants, but any country can do that.
Most Native Americans live in "Indian Reserves" where they have no possibility of communication with the outside. Kinda like you guys, but you guys do have communication and the possibility of knowledge from the outside, but don't make profit of that.
I dont like how you're referring to ALL americans as a WHOLE. There are many many types of people in America, and all over the world. So you can't really refer to them as one group that's the same, because they're not. There are Americans that fit your description, yes. But there are also very intelligent Americans, and some don't like to be labeled/put into the group of the ignorant ones.
As was said in a hate pos in response to this: it's not about every single American, it's about your common idiot American.
You are clearly ignorant. Australia is among the most developed countries in the world. Indian Reserves do not exist anymore. I would know. I live in the part of the country that used to be an "Indian Reserve." (Cherokee, btw)
Indian reserves do still exist.
And yes, reserves still exist.
Australia is a racist country. It may be advanced, but it's racist. Look at how they treat aboriginals. It may appear to be an advanced country, but go there and see for yourself.
I think that's extremely stereotypical, I'm from Australia and I know very few racist people. I admit the treatment of the indigenous people has been terrible, but we are trying to overcome that (obviously it's not going to be something that can be forgiven or frogotten, but I think we are trying to move on from it.) The government does also give large sums of money to the Indigenous people, but the problem is when they give them money, other people try to get them to buy drugs and alcohol, therefore causing them to spend it on that and have problems again. That is why there are numerous new programs aimed to help the indigenous people (like award ceremonies for those who stay in school and courses at university for them.) It's not a problem that's easily overcome and I wish we did do more, but I really do not thing that you can say that australia is a racist country.
There's no point in receiving money when you have no house and nothing. Maybe they should actually be giving houses and jobs instead of money. It seems like an obvious thing to do.
Yes that's why they try to provide education -the most important tool. They also have housing support, those were just a few things I mentioned... The problem is a lot of them don't want to be helped (who can blame them? Look what we've done to them in the past.) But we have moved on from that, Kevin rudd said sorry, and I know that doesn't really mean much, but it needed to be done and I hope that relations will continue to get better from there. But I think you're really oversimplifying it, there's not really an easy answer, and please don't generalize and say my country is racist, because it's not and it's offensive.
Uhm I don't think you actually know what a reserve is like if you think there is no outside communication.
Someone call a doctor and get this guys tree out of his ass!!!
America hasn't contributed much, it's just a few people who live in America.
Same with any other country. It's always just a select few with enough influence to contribute.
The fact is, people don't dislike America out of principle or because other people dislike them. There is a definite reason. This is something the yanks need to understand.
What is this "definite" reason you failed to state in your comment? As an "ignorant" and "hated" American, I would love to know.
I've never met an American who has ever legitimately expected that there would be an igloo and/or polar bears in Canada.
Actually we just love messing with Canadians.
We ask Canadians that just to be funny. Really, it's not that funny, but sometimes we get some entertaining answers.
As the OP, believe it or not, I disagree. Most of them do that as a joke. (Most, others really have no fucking clue.)
Yeah that was staged.
It was...
Now I can't tell if you're serious or not.
Ive met so many people that came from Canada but none had a bad experience, maybe it's just you? When I went to Canada they kept commenting on mcdonalds and obama, but I didnt really care because it is a JOKE
I live in america and i'm a history nerd, and i can barely name all 50 states maybe 40. Anyway, i know more about other countries than i do America. This is dumb..
I forgot Arkansas even existed for like 10 minutes. Nothing ever happens in Arkansas... :P
Absolutely no proof that this isn't copied and pasted / googled.
You didn't prove anything with that comment.
Try again.
If it was alphabetical I would have my doubts, but its was just a random order
I actually learned a song in elementary school that included the fifty states in alphabetical order, so I can only lost them that way, if I'm including all of them.
Fifty nifty united states from 13 original colonies shout em scout em tell all about em one by one till we've given a name to every state in the good old USA!
Yeah that song. It was always stuck in my head in elementary school.
Wow, I am the worst at geography and even I know the 50 state. I mean honestly they even have a preschool song for it. So I wouldnt say you are good at geography if you dont even know the states of your own country.
lol. sad but true. the poster sounds like my African husband!
in my opinion though: although intelligence is a beautiful thing, the knowledge of geography is not what gets u into heaven:)
