I don't think gangsters know that many words...and if they do, they most defiantly don't know how to write them correctly. So I wouldn't say Chinese/Japanese speakers are true "gangsters"

Not so much. I can SPEAK fluent Chinese but I only know like 500ish characters. I'm still a Chinese speaker though...and even though there ARE 50 000 characters, barely anyone actually knows all of them. The average chinese kid graduating from high school knows something like 8000 characters, or maybe it's 12000...but either way, nowhere near all 50 000 characters that exist...like do you know every word in the English language?

Mirroring what XhollyXroseX said above, I don't even think anyone knows all 50,000. The same goes for Japanese, along with the Katakana and Hiragana alphabets which are quite small, the 'general use' Kanji in Japan is only about ~2000 or so characters, so you can easily be fluent in Japanese and only know about 2000 kanji characters. The characters can also apply to Korean, and they are called Hanja, however you can get by only knowing VERY basic hanja symbols because they use almost exclusively Hangul alphabet.
