-139 There's no such thong as a suicide "attempt". If you really want to die, it's not that hard. If you fail at it, especially more than once, it was on purpose, amirite?

Hehe. Thong.

hehe

I dunno. There have been a few people that have survived a bullet through the skull...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well yeah that's true...but I mean the people that say they've attempted suicide 4 times or something. There are few cases of surviving bullets to the head.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Um...yeah, no. Sorry, but I've really tried to kill myself with severe overdoses of medication when I was 12. My parents found me before I died and I was in the hospital a while, but I survived...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Agreed. Also, overdosing isn't exactly the easiest thing. Most people end up either vomiting or digesting the medication within minutes; the body is an amazing thing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And have you tried again since?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Not only do you fail at life if you can't do it, but you fail at death too.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'd say that two or more failures and you're not really trying. I mean, if I wanted to kill myself I could easily have it done within the next 48 hours, but then there are those people who think that the easiest way to kill yourself is with an overdose, but let's be honest, if your suicide attempt is that half hearted, you're clearly not decisive enough.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Most people who attempt suicide do it in a moment of insanity, it's very rarely thought out. So if the suicide attempt seems stupid and insincere it's usually because the most available way wasn't a very good one.

This is my post, but I disagree with it now. I didn't even remember posting it until I got the notification that it was homepaged. Genuinely trying to kill yourself and failing is possible, but I think only once. If you get it wrong twice, you aren't really trying (unless you're saved by some freak accident).

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Why did you post it anonymously?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I don't remember.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Because it is a controversal topic and they probably didn't want people bitching at them personally.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

But then there are the suicide attempts where you would have succeeded if you hadn't been found. But sure, if someone attempts suicide multiple times and always survives, they're probably not really trying - which isn't a bad thing.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The only cases I can think of where being found is an issue are overdose and cutting your wrists. And if you try that once and fail, you shouldn't try it again.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I personally think that if you try a method where there is a chance you'll get found or otherwise survive, when there are all those other methods out there, then you were making the attempt in the hope that you'd get rescued. Maybe not even consciously, but if you had decided for certain that you wanted to die, you would choose a method wherein the was absolutely no chance you'd fail, and if you try any other way, then that just means that you don't truly want it to happen.

Hanging.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ah, I missed one.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I've been bodily tackled before, and I was legitimately trying. I kicked and hit my best friend in an attempt to get free.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

but you were trying with your best friend there with you?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

No. I didn't expect her to show up.

This post has inspired me to start a lingerie company and our most renowned product will be a thong so dangerously risqué that it will be called "The Suicide Attempt".
