Guys have it SO much easier than girls, amirite?

Trying to start a sexist debate here?

We all have our yays and nays.

Honestly, it's true...

I like to think of everyone as equal, but I'm open to opinions, what makes you say this?
by Anonymous14 years ago
I think of everyone as equal too. But, boys don't have to go through the... um... changes that girls do. They're almost always easier accepted and don't have to worry about drama starved girls. If they do, they're always just a tool.

As am I. I think we can have an intelligent discussion about this without resorting to name-calling or anything (losers!).
No matter how we truly slice it, females basically have it harder than men on a global scale. It just is how it is. Statistically in Canada women working full-time earn 70 per cent of what full-time men make. Media-wise, females are expected to be much sexier than guys need to be. We guys have to wear basic tuxes, women need to wear something beautiful and chic. In Canada, most women have been allowed to vote in federal elections for less than 100 years. Heck, in certain countries women aren't even allowed to drive!
That's not to say we're not evolving. Many countries are reaching much closer equalization. It just takes time.

well, maybe we have it harder when it's that one week of the month or when we're preggers.
other than that, I see both sexes as pretty much equal.

Girls have it tough when they're having their period, yes, but other then that, I've seen them get WHATEVER they want. All you girls have to do is flirt a little bit and be sexy, and you'll get what you want. I see it all the time. Guys however, have to work to get what they want.

Yeah yeah probably true. All you have to do his have boobs and BAM boys want to do stuff for you.

Pretty much.

Three words: no reason boner. I do believe I just won the argument.

We have our issues too, don't get me started.
I love it when girls act like they are the only ones allowed to have problems. If you add everything up, I'd say we have a pretty even level of difficulty.
I especially love how this is half the content on amirite.

My comment may be biased, but yes, I do believe women have it harder. Period cramps and hormone fluctuations, weight loss is more difficult, pregnancy and all of it's discomforts, the body disfiguration that comes with it, breastfeeding, children care, image maintenance and drama in social circles, menopause, the whole fighting to change our roles a bit... the list goes on. Sometimes I just want to walk in a guy's shoes for a bit to see what it is like.
