Schools are becoming WAY too involved with their students' personal lives, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Understandably.
by Anonymous12 years ago
the fact that you can be suspended for getting in a fight over the weekend and outside of school is ridiculous
by Anonymous12 years ago
People at my school got expelled for cyber bullying. Yeah, it was pretty crazy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Cyberbullying is a crock of shit.
I could see why people get upset- but it's generally the same as regular bullying. Everyone always claims thay "well cyberbullying comes home with you, you can't get away from it." That's why there is a block button on almost every social networking site in existence.

by Anonymous12 years ago
Really? What about multiple accounts and getting your friends to harass the person? This happened to me, and blocking the whole school is a bit ridiculous. She didn't stop either.
by Anonymous12 years ago
The world isn't a Disney movie! An entire school won't turn on one kid, even our generation isn't that messed up. Most schools don't even have your stereotypical cyberbullies. Some students will CLEARLY stick up for the victim!
by Anonymous12 years ago
A kid I know made a Facebook page to make fun of people in a school club and went waaaaay far, like to the point of outing a kid, saying really personal things about one couple, and implying basically that one was a legitimate whore. Yeah....
by Anonymous12 years ago
When students get in trouble for stuff they did outside of school, thats when it gets ridiculous. School isn't there to discipline you; that's what parents are for.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Both for discipline and homework. My life has been taken over by homework.

by Anonymous12 years ago
I was suspended because they **thought** I might have been the person who spray painted a 7-11
by Anonymous12 years ago
I don't think so...i go to a pretty conservative, catholic, rule-oriented school and nothing really applies
by Anonymous12 years ago
this could not be more true
by Anonymous12 years ago
I know right? One of my school's rules is that no student is allowed to be in town after school and anyone caught down town will receive automatic detention. How fucked up is that?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Really fucked up
:/
by Anonymous12 years ago
What if you're with a parent?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Why the fuck not? What is the basis for this rule?!
by Anonymous12 years ago
that has to be illegal in some way. you should take them to court. That is just a stupid rule
by Anonymous12 years ago
I believe those that voted "NW" are home-schooled.
by Anonymous12 years ago
authoritative figures on the school board or something like that maybe a teacher
by Anonymous12 years ago
I've taken standardized test at school asking my religion, how smart my parents were and how fat I thought my parents were (no kidding).
by Anonymous12 years ago
That is for statistical purposes.
ex (made up): Test scores by religion (then a graph). Or Scores of students who's parents went to collage vs those who didn't.
by Anonymous12 years ago
What about the fat part?
by Anonymous12 years ago
She's either making it up, or they came out with a new statistic about fat parents being good parents or something.
AMERICA F**K YEAH!

I went to talk to the school counselor about a girl who was bullying me, and instead of suspending the girl (who had been filmed by the security camera defacing my locker and stealing my lunch) the counselor called my mother and recommended that I see a therapist about the persecution complex she thought I might have. The sad part is that I used to have a different assigned counselor but transferred to this one after the first one decided that I probably wasn't allergic to peanuts and had made the whole thing up for attention. She'd even called a doctor, read him part of my file, and asked him if it sounded legitimate.
by Anonymous12 years ago
...Wooooooooow. What a fucking dumb ass.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Well, I'd already really pissed the first one off. I had a note from my allergist saying that I should be allowed to carry my EpiPen on my person at all times in case of an allergic reaction, and the principal had approved it, but it was a violation of the zero tolerance policy and the counselor was angry that I was allowed to do it. And then I had to leave a class because the teacher had brought snacks for us to eat while we watched a movie and had forgotten that I couldn't have peanuts, so I had to go sit in the library for that period and I was excused from the worksheet. I think that was when she decided I'd made it up; when it got me out of work.
by Anonymous12 years ago
If you can sue for that shit, you should.
by Anonymous12 years ago
What's fucked up is that the people who are supposed to help you in school are the ones who don't do shit to actually help you with problems you have. This girl stole my whole wallet, and left a condom in my bag, WHICH WAS FILMED, and the A.P said that if I didn't see her do it, she couldn't do anything. I'd take legal action, but she said since it was only $40 and my school i.d in there, I couldn't do anything.
by Anonymous12 years ago
"only 40 dollars"
Please learn the value of money. My parents and in would go apeshit if I lost that much.
by Anonymous12 years ago
SHE said that it was "only $40." I know the value of money, that's just what she said.
by Anonymous12 years ago
Oh, okay. I get it thanks.
by Anonymous12 years ago
I know! A kid threatened to have someone come kill me (he's in a gang) just because I was standing up for my two friends (who are both harmless nerdy guys) when he was picking on them for no reason. Then he went and told the deans some bullshit story about us bothering him. He called one of my friends down to talk about it and the school accused us of bullying him because there were more of us. Why do they always believe whoever tells first?
by Anonymous12 years ago
yo the guy who told is a straight BITCH. He said he was going to get his boys to come and get you. They probably thought that the beef was stupid and wouldn't help him, now he goes to the principle to solve his problem to get at you. He cant do anything for himself. A straight BITCH!
by Anonymous12 years ago
It seems that schools make up more and more rules every year for the sole purpose of getting their students in trouble. My school closes the school doors 5 minutes before you are considered late for school. If you are locked out, you have to walk around the entire school to get to the other doors, that do not open until five minutes before you are considered late
by Anonymous12 years ago
in my brothers school (its a middle school), if you wanna date someone, you have to tell a teacher. then they have to call your parents and tell them. the next day you must bring a signed permision slip from your parents saying its ok for you to date. if you dont do this, you get alot of detentions and you are FORCED to call your parents while a teacher watches
by Anonymous12 years ago
Do people actually follow the procedure?
by Anonymous12 years ago
yea. unless you date in secret, and if you find out someones dating, you have to tell or else youre an acomplice. and teachers pull you aside if they think youre flirting
by Anonymous12 years ago
Fucked. Up.
by Anonymous12 years ago
So like no laughing at a joke or casual punches on my Guy friends shoulder? ...weird.
by Anonymous12 years ago
ha this made me laugh for some reason. but the rule is if they catch you flirting alot you get pulled aside and asked if youre dating orbif youre gonna date etc
by Anonymous12 years ago
Fucking stupid. If your brother is in 8th grade he's almost out of that shithole anyways.
by Anonymous12 years ago
That is the MOST ridiculous rule I've heard.
by Anonymous12 years ago
thats what i said. it doesnt allow kids any privacy at all.
by Anonymous12 years ago
why do they even have it?
by Anonymous12 years ago
i guess some parents complained that their kids were off dating when they didnt know so the school made sure your parents found out
by Anonymous12 years ago
well i still think it's weird.
parents should understand that it is impossible to know what their child is doing every second of the day
by Anonymous12 years ago
thats exactly what i thought. kids have to grow up at one point in their lives and by the schools doing this, its not allowing kids to have privacy.
by Anonymous12 years ago
so true, the sooner the better to a certain extent
