It's sad that everything has a Facebook or Twitter. My Waste Disposal Company has a Facebook and Twitter. It's pretty sad.

What I think would be sad about it is that they're not that interesting. If you need to know something from a gas company, you call them or look at their website. Nobody really cares about their facebook page or twitter.

well, I personally wouldn't go on to their facebook. It doesn't seem professional, and I wouldn't get the info I need if I'm looking for something specific. There's no point to it really.

That's not sad. Advertising has to evolve with social media. Facebook and Twitter are venues for free advertisement. It's not sad for your gas company to have one, it's resourceful.

Advertisement is used to attract people to a certain object or thing. A Facebook page is used as a social networking site to connect people. No one goes on Facebook, and sees an Xbox 360 page and decides, I am gonna buy that! Furthermore, it's was on my bill so, in reality, they are not advertising. They are simply jumping on the bandwagon of having a Facebook page.

And that upsets you in some way? Technically, that is advertising. If you "like" them on facebook all your friends can see it. Then they might hit the link. That will help get your gas companies name out there. You need to be thinking like a business owner.

No, it's just unnecessary for a gas company to have a Facebook. It's not like the world's gonna end because of it. It's simply a fact that is quite amusing and slightly confusing.

It's sad when people fall. That doesn't mean your gonna tear yourself up or start a rally. Sad is also synonymous for bad.

So your gas company having a Facebook is hurting people? It's not bad unless someone gets hurt. People falling is bad because they get hurt. Little girls sending naked pictures to boys at school and then they get forwarded to the whole school is bad. A gas company having a Facebook doesn't hurt anything. You just happen to think it's insane.

Sad as in bad or sad as in it upsets you? If it makes you upset that's more than kind of pathetic. It doesn't hurt anything so it can't be bad.
