Technically, using someone else's internet service without permission is stealing, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
They should have made it password protected...or made it a harder password.

If a house is unlocked, is it still stealing to take a tv from it?
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's different...they'll actually know someone else is using it. 'Cause it'll be gone.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Except they are going to notice it when all their bandwidth is gone

As Manwathiel stated, "if you can't physically touch it, it's not stealing."
by Anonymous13 years ago
it is stealing to take something of value that is not yours. If you pay for the service, then someone who uses it without permission is stealing.

They paid for an internet connection to be available in a certain location. Whether or not someone uses it, they got what they paid for. If they don't take the ten seconds to create a password then its hard for them to complain that someone is using the the network.

If they don't take a couple seconds to make a password, then it's obviously not worth that much to them.

I'm sensing that someone's gypping off their neighbor's internet.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Actually all my neighbors are dead (live next to a cemetary, and all) so no, I am not stealing someone else's internet. AND my family and I have a password for ours so nobody can steal it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
As far as I'm concerned, if you can't physically touch it, it's not stealing.
by Anonymous13 years ago
its not stealing its borrowing lol

SHARING IS CARING!! lol

Key word: Technically...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Exactly. Morals and ethics come next.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes, technically, but it's still not a big deal.

I have a hotspots I use from my phone, butwhat about public wifi, like in hotels?
by Anonymous13 years ago
The keyword is public.
by Anonymous13 years ago
No, it's rape
by Anonymous13 years ago
If you're just looking at websites its not a huge deal, but downloading lots of movies and other large files on someone else's internet service is a different story. Most people have a monthly download limit.
