It's stupid how gay marriage is known as gay marriage and not just "Marriage". Just because you have lunch doesn't mean you have 'gay lunch'. Just because you park your car doesn't mean you 'gay parked', amirite?
I'm gay commenting while I occasionally gay read another gay page I've got open in the next gay tab. Soon I'll go and mow the gay lawn, which I should have done after I ate my gay lunch, but it was so gay hot I had to gay come back inside. It's supposed to gay rain tomorrow, which is why I'm going to mow the gay lawn tonight even though the gay sun's going down. I don't like mowing the gay lawn, but my straight dad offered me gay money to do it.
Do you call a wedding between a man and a woman straight marriage? No. Until they are both referred to equally as either just 'marriage' or 'gay marriage' and 'straight marriage' it can be considered offensive. Which it is. The need to differentiate between one thing and another that are the exact same thing is pointless.
How about we wait until gay marriage is legal and accepted everywhere until we start getting picky about what it's called. I'm almost positive actual gay people don't care what the he'll it's called as long as they can marry the one they love.
I beg to differ. I am a lesbian, and where I live, "gay marriage" is officially called "legal partnership" as opposed to traditional marriage. I find this extremely offensive.
Because we have different terms for different things? the two are different, believe it or not. We don't call all fruit fruit, we have apples and pears and coconuts...we call New York New York...us New Yorkers arent offended that were referred to as NEW York...get over it.
@1311535 (technon): Have you seen the post saying something about marriage is supposed to be between a man and a woman so we should just give it another name? I belive it got downvoted.
Well that's not marriage. I thought the issue was what to put (or not put) before "marriage" when referring to gay marriage? Or have I misunderstood something?
It needs to be called gay marriage right now so we can tell the difference, but once it becomes legal it should just be "marriage," regardless of who's getting married.
People who were acused of being witches were TRADITIONALLY thrown into a lake to determine their guilt. If they drown to death, they're innocent. If they float, you burn them at the stake. Traditions change.
The words "gay marriage" should only be used when protesting, otherwise, it'd be pretty fucking weird saying "MARRIAGE SHOULD BE LEGAL!" or "MARRIAGE IS A SIN!!"
I also hate when people call two gay people in love "partners" :[
Do you have a problem with saying "Oh yeah, her girlfriend is such a sweetheart!" or "His boyfriend has such nice hair!!"
You shouldn't. DOWN WITH THE HOMOPHOBES AND THE PEOPLE WHO ARE TOUCHY ABOUT HOMOSEXUALITY!
Some gays call themselves partners or life partners because gay marriage is illegal in their state, but they still want to show a commitment to each other as a married couple would with a different title than boyfriend or girlfriend. Personally, I just call any couple what they call themselves.
I also know a heterosexual couple who call themselves partners, beause although they bahave very much like a husband and wife, they were never actually married. "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet" says Shakespeare, and he's right. It doesn't matter how you refer to love, love is love. Although your non-homophobia is commendable, remember that hating the ignorant people is as bad as what they do, hating people for their sexuality.
Lots of people use both the terms 'partner' and 'boyfriend/girlfriend'. It had nothing to do with tolerance; it's just a way of distinguishing that it is a homosexual relationship. It is not the same as a heterosexual relationship, and it is not demeaning to use a different term for it.
Ok now see "partner" isn't specifically used for gay couples. Like, if you don't know whether someone has a boyfriend or girlfriend, you could refer to their SO as a partner. It's more commonly used with gay couples, but that's just how the word has changed. However, I say boyfriend or girlfriend for gay couples.
I have nothing against gay marriage, but the phrase is used to differentiate between the two. It's used like that because gay marriage is a union between same sex couples.
Everything else, like lunch and parking, is done by both sexual orientations and sexes in different ways. And that sounds dirtier than intended.
The marriage is still a legal partnership between 2 people who are in love, and the ceremony would still be exactly the same (although I'm not sure how they would be pronounced, because "husband and husband" seems odd). There's no difference that's worth pointing out.
So you're saying there is no difference between a man and a woman getting married and a (wo)man and a (wo)man? Because if there wasn't, there would be no such thing as gay. Because everything would be the same. There would be no gay sex, no gay anything, because doing it with someone of a different sex would be just the same.
It's to differentiate, because it is different. And different is NOT a bad thing.
I'm Catholic and this is what I know: God is perfect; God is love. God loves you no matter who you are or what you do.
Which means that we are supposed to love each other. Regardless of everything, including any of the sins on our soul (which everyone undoubtably has), we are supposed to love each other as God loves us.
I don't care about who you are. I don't care about what you look like, what you believe in, what you've done. I don't care if you don't like me. I don't care if you're mean. I don't care about what your sexual orientation is. I don't care.
Because, while I might disagree with you on things, you are a human being, and that means that I should love you.
This is my theory on the whole gay business, It's estimated that the world will become far too overpoulated for us to all function properly by 2050 if our birth/death ratio continues. So, through Adaption, we have more children developing the "gay" trait in the womb as an embryo, its only us adapting to fit earths current needs, as we've done for thousands of years. It all comes naturally, for example, giraffes used to have very short necks, but with the growing need to reach higher up in a tree for food because food was so scarce on desert floors, they've grown longer necks through gradualism.Think about it, More gay population=lessening of earths population(in theory) and we would all live happily :) And for the people who say its a choice: You're born gay, they ran neurological tests on it and found the sexual part of a mans brain behaves similarly to that of a females and vice-versa. google it.
The only issue with that is that evolution only works if the organism itself benefits from the mutation and survives long enough to reproduce. Homosexuality is a mutation that directly affects the organism's ability to reproduce therefore it is only a common mutation that in time will die out when evolution gives us an immunity to it.
Nice :) i like your Theory, but i dont think its fully evolution, I think it's just a simple adaption. Maybe it'll increase after the earths population decreases? The world will never know :/
I don't see how you can think homosexuality is a mutation that affects an organism's ability to reproduce. A homosexual man can get a boner just as well as a straight man.
Doesn't matter where he puts it, I'm saying that the ability to reproduce is still there. A homosexual man still has the ability to get an erection and ejaculate sperm, hence being homosexual has nothing to do with his 'ability to reproduce'. Maybe his will to reproduce, but not ability.
It needs to be called gay marriage because this is a world where it's illegal in most states, so you need to say the word gay in front of it so people know what you're talking about. If someone was to say "I support the legalization of marriage," it would make no sense, so it's just used to help people. If it was legal all over, however, it would be a different matter as there would be no need to differentiate between the two things. I support gay marriage by the way, and I get where you're coming from, but I think it's fine saying gay marriage.
I've heard this joke before, and I think it basically means that hopefully in the future, same-sex marriage will just be called marriage, the same as how opposite-sex marriage is just called marriage instead of straight marriage, or how two Chinese people getting married is called marriage, not Asian marriage.
But, yeah, as everyone else has said, we aren't at that point yet. And there's nothing offensive by referring to it as gay marriage or same-sex marriage to differentiate. And ThisIsWhyImRite probably said it best - at the moment, same-sex marriage is a hot topic, which is why it's talked about as such, whereas people of all sexes and sexualities do the other activities, so it's not a good comparison.
Once gay marriage is legalized in all states, it will become known as marriage. For now, it can be used to differentiate the two, or as a deragatory term referring to same-sex marriage.
I kind of disagree. I agree that gay people should be allowed to get married, but it's different from what people are used to. So there's nothing wrong with giving it a different name.
But 'gay lunch ' made me lol. It just sounds funny. :3
Before you find out a person is gay. Are they a person? Yes. After you find out they are gay, they are a gay person. Why? A man who is gay is EXACTLY THE SAME as a man who is straight. we don't call people who are straight straight people. We don't call a heterosexual wedding a straight wedding. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. Marriage is marriage. Love has no gender. You can't put a label on two things that are the same and call one different.
i agree the label "gay" can seem offensive in some cases, but with this logic, it seems as if we should completely get rid of the word. "sexual orientation: straight...for men..."
It is totally a place for religious arguements. It's for people with controversial opinions to get together and share their ideas, and everyone who agreed that you should be kicked off takes thiz site for a joke.
It's not offensive, it's just a distinction without a difference, or with a really small difference that is irrelevant to everyone except the two people getting married.
It's only offensive because people use it in an offensive way. NO, I am not aaying gay is an offensive term, it is only offensive when people use it that way. It's all about the macaroni. <3
Marriage is when two people(regardless of gender) come together and recite vows to take each other as partners in life. It doesn't matter if it's traditionally between a man and a woman because marriage SHOULD be between two people who love each other. How many many man-woman couples get married because they actually love each other? Traditionally marriages were arranged in the old days. Now we have the freedom to choose who we marry and when we marry them. Don't you think that means a man could choose a man and marry him? A woman should also be able to choose a woman and marry her? I don't see why so many people are opposed to same-sex marriage. I'm a christian and i believe in god. I don't understand how just because someone is christian that means that they can't support same-sex marriage. It's not an excuse. I don't remember this exactly but I'm pretty sure in the Bible it said to treat all men equally.
Calling it gay marriage doesn't mean you aren't treating people equally if they have one, it just means you're calling it what it is, gay marriage. You referred to it as same-sex marriage in your comment (which is basically the same thing), because it was necessary to differentiate and make it understandable what you were talking about.
you're right on the differentiating part. The term gay is kind of hurtful though. I dont know. i guess what i'm saying is that i think its stupid that same-sex marriage is so frowned upon by so many people.
The differenve between toast and french toast is bigger than the difference between marriage and gay marriage.
Toast is rectangular pieces of bread inserted into a toaster. French toast is usually a different type of bread, and it is prepared much differently, and without the use of a toaster.
Straight marriage is a ceremony where two people are joined legally and make a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together. Gay marriage is a ceremony where two people are joined legally and make a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together The difference is not worth pointing out.
not necessarily. simply because when a gay person eats a sandwich he doesn't eat it any differently than a hetrosexual would eat it. a gay person doesn't park a car in any different way than a straight dude. but a gay person would get married differently, therefore it's a gay form of marriage. I'm not against gay marriage at all, and I'm not saying that the marriage means anything different. All I'm saying is calling it "gay marriage" does make sense.
No, they get married with the same type of ceremony, and they are equally legal (or they would be, if it was legal at all), and the couples are probably equally in love. The only difference is the genders of the people getting married, which is no more significant than the sexuality of the person eating a sandwich.
It's not offensive for it to be called gay marriage because that is what it is, but we're still asking for it to be called 'marriage' because it doesn't need differentiating. Yeah, it seems ridiculous to say, "I support marriage" or "Legalize marriage," but it's ridiculous that we need to fight for the right to get married in the first place.
I think that you shouldn't just call it marriage because people would get confused. Think of it like vehicles. If we just called cars and trucks all "vehicles", and someone came up to you and said "I got a new vehicle!" You'd be like, well... what kind? It's like marriage, if it was just called "Marriage", someone would come up to you saying "I'm getting married!" And if you didn't know it was someone of the same sex, you'd get confused and probably embarrass yourself saying "Who's the lucky girl?!" to a gay man.
Yeah, but a gay guy probably wouldn't come up and tell you he was getting married unless you knew him personally. And if you knew him personally, you'd probably know he was gay.
No, this is thriller, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike
You know it's thriller, thriller night
You're fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight
A marriage between a man and a man and a marriage between a woman and a woman is a gay marriage. It's not offensive to say it's a gay marriage, because that's what it is. You would also say that they are a gay couple, because that's what they are. Stop being so sensitive. I'm all for gay rights (or simple human rights), but come on.
I've never actually heard someone refer to two men or two women dating as a gay couple. It's always just been been 'boyfriends' or 'girlfriends' or just 'they're a couple.'
Maybe when it isn't so controversial and is accepted everywhere, it can just be called marriage. Right now though, it's widely debated and it really wouldn't make sense to see people fighting to legalize just marriage, would it?
Also, the fight isn't really for "marriage." Heterosexual marriage is legal. We're fighting to legalize same-sex marriage, but not say, bear marriage. So it makes sense to differentiate which type of nonlegalized marriage one wants legalized. Once it's legal, all marriage could be referred to as marriage (in Canada I've only heard it referred to as marriage, not gay marriage).
I only disagree with this because it's a hot topic in the current world and you can't really make your point saying you support marriage, or you don't support marriage.
This is one of the stupidest posts I've ever seen. Yes, it would be called "gay parking" if it involved two men (or women) having sex while parking.
Obviously gay marriage is gay because it is marriage between two men or two women.
Fuck that! This site is about sharing opinions. Don't apologize unless you're being an asshole or if you've changed your opinion. If you're respectful but have an unpopular opinion, well forget what anyone says. It's YOUR opinion and the purpose of this site is to share it.
Without being married to the one you love, you don't get certain benefits. You won't be allowed to visit them in the hospital if they are in critical condition. Being married gets you better insurance, better prices on homes, and more. And besides, you're missing the point. Gay marriage has nothing to do with sex; it has to do with the principle of the matter, and more importantly, love. Wouldn't you want to be able to say "this is my wife" or "this is my husband" when introducing the person you want to be with for the rest of your life? So shut the hell up.
Wow you aren't even trolling. I don't understand people like you. How can you think that gay people are sinning? Maybe because you think they choose to be gay. You can't choose to be gay in the same way you can't choose your race or the colour of your hair. Why would someone choose to be ridiculed everyday of their lives?
Its people like you who are stopping our world from progressing.
Judging by how terribly homosexuals are treated and bullied, why would someone just choose to be gay? If it means being ridiculed and treated unfairly, why would they willingly choose it?
You can't change who you're attracted to like that.. you can't just STOP liking someone of the same sex, even if you tried. Same as if you suddenly wanted to be gay.. You can't. You can pretend not to be gay? But that's not NOT being gay.
They proved scientifically that gay people have differences in their brains. In their BRAINS! So while the rest of us are programmed to like the opposite sex, their BRAINS are telling them otherwise!
Did you know fruit bats and penguins have high rates of homosexuality? Yeah, so apparently it it's not so unnatural after all. And, really, I don't think anyone would "rebel against God" by being gay, because that would just be stupid. Rebelling against your parents MAYBE makes sense, but not against the guy who can lock you out of heaven for all eternity.
Get your head out of your ass. You are blindly following a book that condones things like stoning people. I believe in God, but I DON'T believe he would create something just to hate it!
You can't become gay. It isn't a choice.
Watch the WHOLE video:
"I'm a HUGE Christian, and I am not a homophobe. Plus, the Bible also says we shouldn't eat Shrimp. We evolve as people. Times change, nad it used to be that women couldn't work, or vote, or anything. Times change, people should too."
I'm asking why would they choose to be gay in the first place? If they know that being gay would cause them to be the target of a lot of hate, why would they initially make the choice to be gay?
I have gay friends who still go to church. And they're still gay. I don't think when they came out of their mom's womb they were like, "You know what, I think I'm gonna go against God for the rest of my life."
@1310447 (secretninja): wow, i really would like to list 100 ways why you are a complet narrow minded biggit but ill just give you one personal example:
my brother was born gay.
he was very religious.
in his suicide note he expressed a complete self loathing of his sexuality because it was apparently against god.
he tried everything in his power to be straight. but as he would know, straight isnt a choice anymore than being gay is.
he then gassed himself in the car until he died of asphyxiation.
And do you know the weird thing? He was the only christian in our family.
I know someone who came out as a lesbian. She was a grown, married woman with three daughters. As time went on, she naturally became more attracted to women. It wasn't something she chose. It came naturally.
I probably should have finished. She tried to ignore her attraction to women. She talked with her husband about it. But it couldn't be ignored. Eventually she just accepted it, divorced, and remarried. She's a lot happier now being who she really is than trying to ignore it.
Look. We can both agrue here. But we arent Going to change our minds. The way I see is that does it really matter if their gay or not. I mean dose matter is if their kind hearted. I azlso see it as how the way the african americans were judged that way. And were the people who wanted them to die and tthe people who judged them were right?
How do you know if she didn't try hard enough? Do you possibly know her personally? No? That's what I thought. Stop acting like you know and understand gay people when clearly you don't.
Your only argument against gay marriage is that it says so in the Bible. You can't use a Christian document to ban something that isn't only for Christians.
Neither did black people or gay people. But I'm gonna be a cowardly bigot and decide that since you're different you shouldn't have rights. Sound fair?
But God also wanted to give us free will so we could sin if we wanted. So shouldn't we follow what He wanted and give gays the choice to "sin" and marry?
Where does it say He doesn't like it? The Bible? What page, which colomn, and what paragraph? I'm just wondering...and capatalize God next time if you're so religious you don't think certain PEOPLE should exist (yes, shockingly enough, they are people, too) because He doesn't like it. You must have read it somewhere in the Bible.
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
New Living Bible Translation:
If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Leviticus 18:22).
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:13).
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals..." (1 Corinthians 6:9)
Just answering your question.
Maybe this "God" of yours should stop being a punk-ass bitch. How stupid do you have to be to get that upset over the fact that a few of your creations like dick? You know what? I bet God is a closet gay and is taking out his frustrations on the other gays. God can go to Hell.
What if a gay person doesn't believe in God, or follow the Bible? It's impossible to "purposefully" piss someone off if you don't even believe they exist.
Look, you say it's a sin to be gay, right? But it's also a sin to have sex before marriage. So why NOT let them marry? Then they'll only have racked up one sin instead of two.
If you don't accept that you are sinning, how could you ever ask Jesus to forgive you for them? You have to be striving to overcome your sins in order to be saved.
You guys calm down, secretninja Is only a 12 year old girl that watches too much twilight and hasn't reached puberty yet, what would she know about love and marriage? Haha
I have nothing against gays, and I realize that this question doesn't apply to all gay people, but WHY is it that a lot of gay guys talk... I don't know...differently?
Er...I don't know about you, but I've come to notice that quite a few types of people talk differently. Southerners speak differently from Northerners, 'ghetto' kids speak differently than others, different countries speak differently.
Gay guys are just another variation of the human race. There's an uncountable number of speaking styles in this world.
Could you explain that a bit more because there are many different types of gay people. Bears, twinks, daddies, etc. and they all have different archetypes and stereotypes.
Marriage is much more than a sandwich, or parking your car. Its a man and a woman coming together, body and soul. Its ordained by God, and people have been screwing it up from almost the beginning of time.
You don't need to have a religious ceremony to get married. Marriage WAS a religious ceremony, bringing two people together under God. Now, it's a legal right that should be granted to any and all consenting adults.
And by truth you mean opinion. Because not everyone thinks God exists, I don't. In mine and billions of other people's opinion marriage is an act of love and has no gender.
in case different
*it's
Why should this person 'not continue that train of logic' because a lot of people believe differently? That should have nothing to do with whether or not one stands by their beliefs.
I'm not a troll, but yes i said what i believed in a harsh manner. And i don't care what others believe, i'm not going to turn my beliefs to believing abominations are okay.
Because God's rules and man's rules are not the same. Man gave different values to different crimes, but God sees all sins with the same value.
You, anon, are making no sense whatsoever.
I'm an atheist and I just want to enlighten you. Not all atheists are opposed to religion. Actually, most of the ones I know are supportive of religion or at least don't go bashing it to give it a bad name.
I'm fully supportive of rights of all people, including gay people and yes, including Christians. I may not have the same beliefs as a Christian, but I will never bash them for their beliefs. I just simply disagree.
saying 'its just my opinion' doesnt excuse you from justifying it when it get criticised. When people say that, its usually a marker that they cant (justify).
i was being sarcastic silly. Demonstrating how completly arbitrary her opinon on 'despising' gay people is, on the irony of saying something completly insulting and then saying 'its just my opinon' as an excuse. I dont despise people that like twilight thats just silly jeez.
Even if your Bible forbade gay marriage, why should our secular government forbid it as well? That would be like the government making eating pork illegal because it's not kosher. It makes no sense at all.
Actually I have found an argument that says the Bible says that god actually prefers you to have gay sex. http://www.smbc-comics.com/inde...;id=2281#comico if you've never read SMBC click the little red dot at the bottom for a second punchline.
If you park in the rear, I think that can be counted as gay parking.

Do you call a wedding between a man and a woman straight marriage? There is nothing traditional about love.
I'm not talking about love, I'm talking about marriage.
Love is about as traditional as it gets...

Yet your username contains the word "dictator..."
She's saying something wonderful and kind, the world would benefit from more people thinking her way... Don't harass her about a username..!
It's a joke that I have with my friends because I am actually quite the pacifist.
Nice try, but dictators don't have friends!
:'( ...Well, I still love you anyway :D
Cool story, brah.
I see what you are trying to say, but during my lifetime, particularly in crowded parking lots, I have seen many people park gay.
Wow if you just looked at the comments, you wouldn't even think this has a positive score.
Being gay isn't a mutation. There aren't any X-Men who's power is to color coordinate.
But where does he put that boner?
In another man's poop tube!
I feel like you know the answer to this question but your arguing just for the sake of arguing.
K
Yea! Just because you have sex with the same gender doesnt mean.... Ohwait.
Why are people so interested in what gender someone likes?
Idek brahh :/
Uh because so many people think what gender you like determines the kind of person you are... For some stupid reason.
Not my marriage not my problem
How is 'gay' a derogatory term for 'same-sex'?
Yeah that's not going to happen. Sorry.
Being politicaly correct all the time is so annoying. Call it what it is. Gay marriage.
Hahaha, we make fun of people who say stuff like that at my house.
Exactly the same, except one likes penises.
Umm... something random, relevant, and repugnant.
Now vote me up! Unless you are gay. Then vote me up!
I think "secretninja" needs to be kicked off amirite. On every post she argues about religion. All. The. Time.
It is totally a place for religious arguements. It's for people with controversial opinions to get together and share their ideas, and everyone who agreed that you should be kicked off takes thiz site for a joke.
This*
Yes, I agree. I was just pissed so I said that haha.
Thanks :) It's okay to have your opinion, but you also have to respect others opinions also.
The only thing I like about you is you're respectful.
"Thinking straight".
She shouldn't be kicked off for arguing about religion. This is a site for opinions, not popular topics or political correctness.
But then you'd have no one to gang up on!
Censorship.
It can also be called marriage equality.
I don't understand why the word 'gay' is considered offensive...
I mean, it's not like they're saying 'sinful marriage' or anything, it's just 'gay'.
I just wanna know how to order French toast by this logic.
FRENCH toast?!!? NO! Its just TOAST! Don't discriminate of differentiate between the two!
I, personally, know that I do everything differently, in a sexy way, so excuse me while I sexy eat a sandwich.
Does anyone else have an advert for GayXchange under the post? :L
No, mine's about seat covers.
Print screen, ctrl+v in paint or word, crop, copy, amiwrong.net, submit our own
I keep getting The Sheen Lantern.
I saw an ad on here
about Glen Beck's new TV channel
Lol secretninja deleted her comments :P
OOOOOOH. Okay.
Ehh, I wouldn't call her an idiot. I mean, she apologized for her earlier comments.
This has probably already been said; I didn't read all the comments, but I believe in gay rights, I just understand why it's called gay marriage.
Wait... If you're God.. And you believe in gay rights.. Then why are people arguing about this?
Because they are stupid.
...i bet none of y'all are even married.
oh yeah...or GAY, js. Please stop bickering over things that are out of your control.
I'm gay...
i'm sideways :) wait... does that mean bi?
Well, obviously.
oh lol wait. im straight
omg Liz Feldman has an amirite!
oh...wait...
it's not Liz Feldman.
Wait... But if a gay guy came up to me to tell me he was getting married he wouldn't go IM GETTING GAY MARRIED!
Yeah, but a gay guy probably wouldn't come up and tell you he was getting married unless you knew him personally. And if you knew him personally, you'd probably know he was gay.
So they say, "I'm getting gay married!"
I find this post kind of sensitive so I disaagreed, but I don't like your logic very much.
Nah that would just embarrass the gay dude, because he is gay.
It isn't a gay lunch because nothing makes it gay. But, if there was 2 guys fucking in your lunch, it's a gay lunch.
This.

oh dang..
No, this is Patrick. Had to be done.
lmao wow you would
Wait, this is definitely a quote or something like that, I know I've heard it a approximately a million and a half times before.
How can you hear it half a time?
i think they mean half a million :)
@1311762 (DarthJader24): @1311893 (iceicebaby): No, once the person saying it was interrupted halfway through.
The issue should be called gay marriage, but the marriage itself is the exact same.
So can a straight guy park his car by "backing in" or can only gay guys gay park like that?
Maybe because those things don't involve two men (or two women) having sex..?
This is one of the stupidest posts I've ever seen. Yes, it would be called "gay parking" if it involved two men (or women) having sex while parking.
Obviously gay marriage is gay because it is marriage between two men or two women.
Can I say banned?
You just did, moron. Thats like saying "MOM, can i say fuck?"
"You fucking can't say fuck, young lady!"
Why are you downvoted? What you said made sense...
there, i fixed it
Go crawl in a hole and die.
It's annoying when you delete the part that tells you who you were replying to, because then we can't tell who you want to crawl in a hold to die.
It's okay. You have a right to your opinions, and OP has a right to his onions.
(Chauncy Pickles): Well clearly everyone should have rights to their onions...
If God dislikes it, then why would he make them? Aren't we all in God's image?
I believe in God, but I DON'T believe he would create something just to hate it!
... No, you couldn't become gay by "really trying".
I've really tried to be straight plenty of times. And guess what? IT'S NOT POSSIBLE.
See, this is why 12 year-olds shouldn't be allowed on this site.
I'm 14 now thanks and I actually give a crap about my education and current events. I'm probaly the only one at my school with some morals.
I'm a 12 year old who thinks this person is extremely stupid. Just saying.
Rebel against God? It sounds like you're assuming that all gays are Christians. Not everyone is interested in doing what the Bible says is right.
He was the only christian in our family.
f*** you
I know someone who came out as a lesbian.
She's a lot happier now being who she really is than trying to ignore it.
have*
Actually, this might be the stupidest thing i have ever read.
Well, putting everything aside do you think the law and the Bible should mingle anyway?
Your only argument against gay marriage is that it says so in the Bible. You can't use a Christian document to ban something that isn't only for Christians.
"It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." -Dumbledore
You're just made this argument more real for all of amirite.
It was also tradition to lynch black people who whistled at white women. That doesn't mean it's a good thing.
I'm pretty sure not letting gays get married is harming gay people.
Also: http://ctrlv.in/27864
Okay, I hope you don't mind if we pass a law that takes away your rights. You'll get over it.
Neither did black people or gay people. But I'm gonna be a cowardly bigot and decide that since you're different you shouldn't have rights. Sound fair?
So you've never sinned?
Exactly. If you believe in God and sinning, then everyone has sinned.
Also, the Bible is not a reason to take away someone's rights, ever.
I think God would be able to get over it faster.
Letting them get married isn't harming anyone either.
Let me open up my pocket bible.
Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
New Living Bible Translation:
If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
Why does it say nothing about lesbians?
entitled*
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Leviticus 18:22).
"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" (Leviticus 20:13).
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! The sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, passive homosexual partners, practicing homosexuals..." (1 Corinthians 6:9)
Just answering your question.
At first I was on your side of the argument, but now you're just making yourself sound silly and misinformed...
I care.
You can't spell "secretninja" without "sin"!
It's impossible to "purposefully" piss someone off if you don't even believe they exist.
this is just one of the stupidest things i have ever read.
She knows that it is a sin because it says it boldly in The Bible!
There shouldn't even be straight marriages.
Look, you say it's a sin to be gay, right? But it's also a sin to have sex before marriage. So why NOT let them marry? Then they'll only have racked up one sin instead of two.
It doesn't matter how many sins you have in your life if you do not repent for all of them. And you can't repent for a sin if you think it's okay.
If you don't accept that you are sinning, how could you ever ask Jesus to forgive you for them? You have to be striving to overcome your sins in order to be saved.
I find the whole idea of marriage stupid as a whole.
You guys calm down, secretninja Is only a 12 year old girl that watches too much twilight and hasn't reached puberty yet, what would she know about love and marriage? Haha
More than you I assume?
People like you are just so close minded and ignorant that it makes me want to puke. Hopefully one day you will realize how ridiculous you sound.
Ipecac makes me want to puke.
I know right? It would be unfair to let people marry people they love.
I have nothing against gays, and I realize that this question doesn't apply to all gay people, but WHY is it that a lot of gay guys talk... I don't know...differently?
Some people do it naturally. Others do it because they think they have to. You wouldn't believe how many times I've been told I don't act gay enough.
Yeah, but I'm gay, and I talk "normally". Or, I think I do.
Could you explain that a bit more because there are many different types of gay people. Bears, twinks, daddies, etc. and they all have different archetypes and stereotypes.
Even tho this is a quote, its true. But its not yours.
Only if you eat with your partner is it called "gay lunch", or if you park with your partner, is it called "gay parking"
You're kidding, right?
Obviously
Marriage is much more than a sandwich, or parking your car. Its a man and a woman coming together, body and soul. Its ordained by God, and people have been screwing it up from almost the beginning of time.
You don't need to have a religious ceremony to get married. Marriage WAS a religious ceremony, bringing two people together under God. Now, it's a legal right that should be granted to any and all consenting adults.
God doesn't exist and religion is a glorified cult
Yes.... he does. And no... it isn't.
Marriage is a financial situation in which both partners are mutually beneficial because marriage is a legal organization. Not a religious one.
I've already posted the truth. I'm not going to repost it or start arguing about it.
And by truth you mean opinion. Because not everyone thinks God exists, I don't. In mine and billions of other people's opinion marriage is an act of love and has no gender.
Well it is what it is.
gay marriage(an oxymoron) is not the same as a real marriage, so they therefore have different names
Gay marriage is an oxymoron. I've never met one happy married couple.
in case
different
Even though your username isn't very original, I homepaged it. First homepage ever :)
I was 12 when I created it and it could think of anything. Now I have about 20 different username ideas:/ and thank you very much!
Just go to your settings and change your user name.
...really?
Yes really. I can see you changed it =)
yup(: it means a few things...do you like?
I like it. You just might want to capitalize the O in of so that it looks separated from Freedom.
Wait what was it before FreedomofSpeech?
Exactly what I want to know.

Wait, you can just CHANGE your username?
I know! I gasped right then and there!
No.
(Chauncy Pickles): Yes.
NO.
(Chauncy Pickles): You just put a space in your name! I caught that.
The other day I caught a driftloon on a post aboot holes in boxer shorts.
Gay marriages shouldn't be allowed. It's against the bible and as a Christian I despise them.
With this logic, you should despise everyone. Because everyone sins. And all sins are equal in God's eyes.
And in Satan's eyes. Just sayin'.
Um so by your logic, God sees murder and j-walking as equal sins?
J-walking isnt a sin. Your comment is dumb.
But lying and murder are equal. And stealing and adultery.
You are quite wrong. If they are all equal, then why can a murderer be put to death but an adulterer can walk free? Your logic is tragically flawed.
They were talking about how a sin is a sin. Not the punishment we deal out as society.
Because God's rules and man's rules are not the same. Man gave different values to different crimes, but God sees all sins with the same value.
You, anon, are making no sense whatsoever.
Hurr derp
TROOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL IN THE DUNGEON.
Just thought you should know. faints
Thank you. I'm an atheist, too, and I would NEVER criticize a person for their religion.
How does this post sound like it's hating on Christians? It doesn't say anything about Christians...
I don't see the comment but I'll take your word for it!
<3. I simply love people who think like this.
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
Lol. You like twilight, i think its horrible and i think you are horrible for liking it. Actually as a harry Potter fan i DESPISE you for it.
(I know I will get voted down for this, but I'm just stating my opinion)
saying 'its just my opinion' doesnt excuse you from justifying it when it get criticised.
