Admit it, you would rather have a Kindle than a book, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
I wouldn't want a kindle unless I was going on a long trip and would need to bring a lot of heavy books.

Never. I can still buy books for sometimes less than $5 a book if they're used. I can also sit on my book without it breaking. Another great thing about books is there are no stupid technical issues that may ever occur. If a page rips, I can tape it back on without going through any stupid process with the company who sold the book.

Personally I like books for the content in them, not for the ability to sit on them and sniff them, so I agree. Unless I'm just biased because some books I want to read don't exist in physical form....
Also, I've never been able to comfortably read relaxed. Like, unless there's some secret technique, I need both hands to keep most books open...

Words are words, and if they can be expressed in a more convenient medium then why not?

All the NW'ers: would you rather have a CD or an iPod?
This is basically what the post is saying.
Sure, CDs by their own don't have that special "CD smell" or the "feeling of opening a brand new CD", but the analogy still holds.

I could always sell it and buy a bunch of books.

No way. I love a new book. The feel of the pages, the smell, the glossy cover, the words inside. A Kindle is too... too electronic. It's a book, seriously.

You are gay, seriously.

" The words inside"?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Not necessarily a Kindle, but a Kindle app and program on my computer.

Kindles suck. Nooks (B&N eReader) are way better.

This is like asking if you'd rather have an album than an iPod. An iPod contains albums, and a Kindle contains books. If you had a Kindle, you could hold thousands of books on it.
