This isn't just to you, but I'm only going to write it once. To you guys it may not be a big deal, but Serbia's been getting a lot of shit from American media for the last 2 decades, and we're just trying to move on from the gory past. I understand she was trying to make a joke, but why would she call us a disgrace and dissapointment after a politician said Amy Winehouse was one, which she is, because she came on stage intoxicated and obviously on drugs. But she chose to say we were a dissapointment, and then acted surprised that we had Facebooks, and that we're allowed to have concerts. We obviously don't take things lightly, and that's a bad thing in some people's opinion, good in others, but it's really just that we're sick of people giving us bullshit and just want to move on. & all we want is an apology. Now a reply to your actual comment, my friend Lauren Cooper didn't help me with this post, now did she. (Where my name's from if you didn't know) :)

It was just a joke. People make jokes about the U.S. all the time and I'm not bothered by it. I'm sure a comedian in another country has called the U.S. a disgrace. You can't take these jokes personally. She wasn't giving a hate speech against Serbia or it's citizens. If she was then, I would see it as being a problem.

I get that this was taken too far, but a joke is a joke. Like a ton of people have said, jokes are different from serious statements for a reason. There is a line that shouldn't be crossed, but people shouldn't blow up when it is. Jokes are jokes. And people make jokes about the US ALL the time. Americans make jokes about the US. It was kind of a bitchy thing to say, but it probably wasn't meant to offend anyone.
