+160 You would think with todays advances in technology and what not there would be a design for a truck that actually gets good gas mileage, Amirite?

Engines haven't really changed over the years compared with other technology

You'd be surprised. The new F-150 gets 21 MPG.

Yeah, my fuckin '91 Dodge gets like 14 at best on highway. Maybe fifteen if I can replace some parts.

Nah, man, why the hell would the people at Haliburton want gas efficient vehicles? That makes them LOSE money! Who the fuck cares about us having to pay up to a couple hundred more bucks a month or what happens 30 or 40 years down the road as long as mega super fucktastically rich oil tycoons have an extra lifetime's worth of money they'll never be able to spend RIGHT NOW?! To paraphrase the great Ron Weasley, "You REALLY need to sort out your priorities!"

you are absolutely retarded... Just another jealous (and socialist) liberal that has a twisted view of big businesses and doesn't like it when others are more successful than him and make more money. Go find some oil yourself, then-- supply and demand, bitch. Or, move to Cuba or China and fuck yourself. Welcome to America, capitalism and freedom reign!!!

Well, I don't want to get into an argument (by the way, I thank you for calling me a retard right away) but your assessment is way off. I'm not at all socialist. I know that only works on paper, never in practice. Liberal? No, I'm libertarian. This means do what you want as long as you don't hurt or force your way of thinking onto others. I find it interesting that whenever someone wants to insult someone left wing, they throw about the word "socialist". What evidence did I leave in that comment to suggest that I'm at all socialist? Perhaps a bit of suggestion, but I don't think it was enough to just throw about the accusation. Second, there HAVE been times when big oil companies have worked their way into slowing down oil efficient engines. One way I've heard is that they'll fund an organization's research on the matter, but the condition will be that the board of approval must consist of oil executives. I believe they call that a conflict of interest, no?

Also, I have no problem at all with people who make loads of money as long as they do it fairly honestly. Bill Gates for example. His company popularized computers that damn well changed the way the world works. He deserves that money (despite the PR nightmare of Vista) and I hold nothing against him for it. You work, you deserve money. My problem is when you specifically target and attempt to harm others that are trying to offer an alternative.
