If the person is going to spend the rest of their lives in constant pain or will be so broken that they can't function or think properly, perhaps doctors should just let them pass on, amirite?

well when they are being kept alive by machines and countless operations, I hardly think they can make a decision. My step uncle has been in constant pain for 25 years, always drugged up on medication. Naturally he would have died but doctors intervened. Is that a good thing?
