+212 If toilets flush clockwise in the northern hemisphere and anti-clockwise in the southern hemisphere, which direction would a toilet on the equator flush, amirite?

Well, it depends. If you're on the equator, you will only be exactly in the middle two days a year (the spring and fall equinox I think). Other than that, it would flush clockwise for half the year and counterclockwise for the other half.

No, I think since the equator is always perpendicular from the axis the earth spins on, the time of year matters. (Where the sun is relative to the earth's tilt or the earth's rotation around the sun don't matter, it's the earth's spin that matters.) Of course, the idea that the coriolis effect is strong enough to effect toilets flushing is also a myth...

Counterclockwise is definitely used in america and I believe cananda as well, but I've heard anti-clockwise instead from people living elsewhere
