The Earth is thought to be 46 hundred million years old. It may be hard to wrap your brain around that number so lets say the Earth is just 46 years old. That means single-celled organisms arrived around 11 years, simple animals around 40, dinosaurs around 45, and humans...only 2 hours ago. This really puts human existence into perspective, amirite?

haha yeah I've seen that episode. But it's been going around for a long time. It's an old meme, but it started even before then.

Lol it's not bad. You shouldn't be embarrassed. It's not like you knew it would get popular. I didn't. It's a perfectly acceptable response to the comment.

It's amazing that we've learned and figured out so much in such a short amount of time.

For simple animals and dinosaurs did you mean months/days?

@greatrande For simple animals and dinosaurs did you mean months/days?

No I meant years. I know dinosaurs were around only 65 million years ago but that's why I said "around 45".

Oh my god. I just finished writing my reply to you, and then I read the post again. What I first thought was that you meant that dinosaurs had been around for 45 years out of the 46, not appeared on the 45th year, which didn't make any sense. Now I feel so stupid xD

I swear I read that as orgasms

Mhmmms avatar Mhmmm Yeah You Are +1Reply

the reason we've learned so much is because science grows exponentially. And the last 3 comments are from the same guy.

We are biological infestations. I learned that in earth science.

i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

@Pug i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

That isn't even accurate, though. ._. Humans didn't magically start existing when Jesus did, lol. For the sake of this discussion, we could say that there were humans at least a couple thousand years before christ, sure. But does that really leave enough transition time for all the different periods of dinosaurs to come and go? Over the course of 2000 years? I mean, come on. I'm not trying to be patronizing, I just want to understand what you're thinking.

@Pug i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

Please refer to the first comment on this post.

@Pug Do you, like, not believe dinosaurs existed? .-.

@Pug i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

it's honestly not a big deal to me how old the earth is. i just personally don't think its millions (excuse me, billions) of years old.
i went on a vast explanation on another post.. but i'm not trying to convert anyone to think the same. it doesn't matter in the end, does it?

@Pug i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

We have documentation of human history about 5 thousand years ago

@Pug i think the earth is only 6000 years old..

The beginning? Lol 6000(or 7000) years is a very long time. We have only about 2000 documented by humans.

Wat a retard, the earth is around 4 billion years old u dipshit, dinosaurs died off around 65 million years ago, and the universe is 14 billion years old. Get your facts straight retard.

Anonymous -12Reply

All you retards out there, you can date the earth using the radioactive dating. STFU u religious people, you have no facts, go back to your fairytales.

Oh my god. I just rechecked this... That was totally an accident. My phone kept fucking up so i kept reposting..

How do you know that stuff is true? Your parents and teachers could be liars or actors.

(?damU): No, because they are obviously older than you. You can see people around you aging, and they're farther in the aging process than you are.

This is actually really clever, idk why a bunch of people missed it...

If we are two years ago how can the dinosaurs be one year ago...

Actually, the earth is only 6000 years old. :o)

@wobbuffet Actually, the earth is only 6000 years old. :o)

Uh..what? The earliest humans were recorded to be 10,000 years old, so that makes no sense.

@1329008

Uh. False.
Even an average person knows that carbon dating has estimated the earliest forms of human life was way after that. If humans were first created 400,000 years ago why would it have taken SO long to evolve into such a complecated species?

You missed the whole "thought to be" part, didn't you? Not saying you're right, by the way.
