+313 Its odd that we sometimes measure distance with the unit of time and not the unit of distance, eg: "How far is the drive?", "About 7 hours or so". amirite?

That's not odd.... It's how we normally measure the distance of time??

(TooSweet4You):We measure the length of time in seconds or hours. We measure distance in metres of kilometres. Not too sure what you mean to be honest...

or miles.

(ashnicoleluvsblg):Yes, depending on whether you use imperial or metric system. I use the latter :)

Do you mean Velocity?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No...? When did velocity come into it?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, you're right. But i guess it is easier that way.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well it's more useful in time, if you say someone is a kilometer away then that could be 10min if they are walking but 1min in a car...

I usually ask, "How long is the drive?" which can be answered with either distance or time.

When I ask that question, I prefer to be answered with the unit of time.
