"a bunch of meat-eaters" lol. You make them sound like cave men.
Or dinosaurs.
That's annoying yes, but it's worse when someone decides to constantly ask you if you want some of their chicken or whatever after you already said why you don't.
or not be vegetarian.
Why can't you order vegetarian appetizers..?
I think vegetarians need to stop complaining. If they want to be a vegetarian they should learn to order vegetarian food
We know how to order vegetarian foods, but you can't really order foods that aren't on the menu. We have had to leave places because they have literally no vegetarian foods.
OP is saying a lot of times it's awkward because everyone else orders meat, and veggie options are limited. It's not a matter of "learning" to order vegetarian meals.
maybe they're sharing the foods? Not every restaurant serves in the "individual entree for one" style.
it's not hard to make things veggie friendly. Ask for something without meat. I have had many veggie friends and they are just fine going into a restaurant and getting something to eat
I know it's not, haha, I disagreed with the post, actually. I don't eat beef and avoid other meat when I can, and it's really not that hard.
Particularly if you are at a fast food place, but plenty of nicer places too, there is just not that much there other then a salad or a roll or something along those lines so other then specifically finding vegetarian restaurants, you can't 'learn' to order it.
ask for stuff without meat. I have had plenty of vegetarian friends and they do that. It's not that difficult. My veggie friends have been able to go to any place they want and find stuff to order.
I'm not saying you can't do that, but some places wont go off the menu or have literally nothing but a salad.
YDI for being vegetarian.
Lol@FMLer
Not really, this just sounded way specific and bitchy, like an FML.
And when you say you're a vegetarian, they're like "Oh, would you like some chicken? How about fish?" Like meat is only cows and pigs. It's weird. Also, I don't say anything about it because I know it's obnoxius and not everyone's vegetarian, but the smell and the look grosses me out so much.
I know! It's stupid. I'm the worst kind, because in allergic to TONS of stuff, and in really picky. So I went to a grill thing with my friend, and I didn't want to be rude, so I had to eat marinated veggies, potato salad, and coleslaw. That was the ONLY veggetarian food. It tasted.... Awful.
It sounds awful. It's really hard not to sound rude talking about this kind of stuff, but honestly, I can't stand that kind of thing.
I agree. I fed the veggies little by little to the catfish, because the grill sort of over a lake. I had a wonderful dinner of tiny cups of potato salad and slaw. Ew. It's just diffacult! It's one of those things that you would rather deal with than not be vegetarian.
*difficult
I noticed right after I hit "add post". Darn.
:/ Well, not really that big of a deal. You could just delete it and repost it with the spelling corrected. Or just leave it. It doesn't matter that much.
I just left it, as you can see. I was too lazy to fix it.
This is quite an annoying thing, I must agree, But I hate most of all when you're going out to eat in a group and everyone is like "Crap, where should we go? We have a vegetarian with us." We can get a salad or something without meat. It just goes to show that those who aren't vegetarian don't know much about it.
man idk where you guys eat, i find lots of vegetarian options at Yardhouse, BJ's, The Elephant Bar, The Cheesecake Factory, The Olive garden, The Macaroni Grill, Red Robin, Dennys, various mexican restaurants, various thai restaurants...even applebees!...All these places either have good veg options, have veg substitutes if you ask, or allow you to customize your order. The hardest places are generally Chinese (unless you go to P.F. Changs) or Japanese restaurants for vegetarians.
Fish appetizer? Or stuffed mushrooms, garlic mushrooms...a salad?
Vegetarians don't eat fish, pescetarians do.
Ok, but minus the fish option there is still enough to chose from to have a good meal out.
It's really annoying when you either have a friend that's like "I'm so sorry that I'm eating meat around you!", it's like, really. I don't care. Or of you have a friend that's like "this Is so good! Have some! Just a bite! Uhg you should eat meat." or something.
VEG HEADS UNITE!
