-174 Mythology is basically the stories of people on drugs, amirite?

To be honest mythology is just at 'out there' as common religions; the only difference is the number of gods

As far as you know, common religions could also be the stories of people on drugs. If I remember correctly, psychoactive 'shrooms were used in the time of Moses, for instance.

"he was so stoned, that he started making out with a random dude for like an hour!" <--that's a story of people on drugs. Not mythology.

"He was so stoned that he started casting lightning bolts at a random dude for like an hour!"

More like Zeus pissing off his jealous wife by runnin' around impregnating mortal women, who pop out little demi gods that grow up and get into all these crazy shenanigans. if you're looking at Greek mythology.

Well no. All myths/religions are there to explain the world people saw/see around them. I'm not sure why the age of the stories affects their credibility these days.

It's because new beliefs that say all others are wrong are now so widely spread across our planet that all else prior is considered myth. I can't wait till Christianity becomes a myth.

In religions like Christianity, at least all the stories and lessons come to a common moral and idea. In mythology, it's like "Oh we suddenly really want to find some golden fleece, so this kid who was randomly born out of the ocean is going to go fight monsters" or that something like an apple can be so irresistible that everyone who sees it has to to go it.

You're right. Christianity is very different. Only half of the entire human population goes for the apple in Christianity.

It's funny how most people comment on mythology thinking about the mythology in the Percy Jackson Series and not the original stories.

It's funny how you don't know what you're talking about since I just finished Edith Hamilton's "Mythology". 500 pages of the original stories?

I wasn't referring to the post, I was referring to the earlier comments.
