+522 Nerds: Hollywood seems to make the assumption that we would do anything to be one of the popular kids when really we often couldn't be happier with who we are and the friends we have, amirite?

not true. you're only defined a nerd if you're smart- if you have no friends then you're a loser- everyone has at least one friend

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, I'm sure they would rather be a nerd than be friends with you.

In my school theres not really nerds or cool kids, its basicly just loads of different groups of friends that mix like a venn diagram

In sixth grade I was popular, but not happy. I decided to sit with people I barely knew instead and ended up making a best friend that day.

Not all schools are devised into different groups, including Nerds and the Popular Kids, the first longing to be the other. At my school, I'm friends with everybody. The skaters, jokers, nerds, loners, populars, wackjobs (my BEST friends), dancers, whoever.

There really are no "popular" kids at my school.

I have no idea where I fit in at my achool. I really just talk to anyone. There's a "main" group of friends I sit with, and I can't really describe them. But after I eat I kind of bounce around and talk to anyone.

In year 7 and 8 I was part of the popular crowd but then I met some new people and started hanging out with them, instantly making me "unpopular". Then in year 10, the line between popular and not popular got really thick and I started to wish I was popular again. Now I'm in year 11, I'm really happy with my group of friends.

In 6th and 7th grade, I was that nerdy little kid with the big glasses that no one really liked, over the summer, I got contacts, hit a growth spurt, braces were taken off, and I started learning a lot of things (languages, computers, math, science) and I was mistaken for someone else most of that year. It was great.
