Oh geesh, we all the how the legal system works. Um the problem was that the law and jury were focusing too much on other crimes she was charged with, i.e. child abuse, and didn't show enough supportive evidence to the fact she murdered caylee, so the judge punished her only on what they supported enough

the legal system: the cops search for evidence, when they are convinced they prosectue and name the charges and a trial date is set. the trial happens and twelve oridinary people discuss it and decide what happened. pretty vague but then I'm no lawyer

They had no proof they killed her. As far as they know she drowned. It would be a sad show of CSI or Bones if they charged people guilty with no evidence. Right?

Yeah because when kids drown they usually have duct tape over their mouth and are found in the woods. And the mom usually parties for a month without telling anyone, has a car smelling like decomposing flesh, always parks next to dumpsters so no one notices, and lies repeatedly to the police.

I agree a lot of the things she did didn't make sense, and I do think she should have done some time in jail. But they said the duct tape could have been used after her said "drowning" to go along with the story she told.

Why would she need to make up a story (especially one where you have to put duct tape over your already dead baby's mouth) if she just accidentally drown? I feel like any innocent person would, I don't know, call the police? Immediately?

Define "reasonable doubt". I think there was plenty of evidence that Casey killed her daughter. I think the searches on her computer for "chloroform" and "how to break someone's neck" are a red flag, and that is only one piece of evidence!
