+207 It's not surprising to find out that only the U.S. put "Proudly" in front of their "Made in ____" label on products, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And yes, some rare labels from other countries have that too, but mostly it's only the U.S.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Its not to be stuck up, it's to show patriotism and that the company is mostly located in the US.. and last time I checked, that's rele rare and crutial to america's rebound from this recession... Or am I watching a different economic report?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's to show OVER-patriotism.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well, goods made here in South Africa all say "Proudly South African" :P

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Exactly. We even have a symbol for it. http://www.techniq.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Proudly-South-African1.jpg

You should get out from under your rock. A lot of products made in other countries say "Proudly Made In ___."

by Anonymous 12 years ago

LOL do you not see all the Made in China, or do you see Proudly Made in China?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because China is the only other country that makes goods, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Take my advice. Thanks.

I don't understand why everyone has a problem with America being patriotic. Most of the people that ARE patriotic aren't the kind that hate the rest of the world too. I love this country and I'm proud to be a part of it. But ironically enough, when I turn 18, I want to leave.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

When did anyone say anything about this being a problem?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You seem like you have a problem with patriotism in America. Otherwise you wouldn't have said it's over-patriotic. There's nothing overly-patriotic about being proud that what you're buying actually comes from your country instead of another where maybe the standards for workers/items being made aren't the best.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

WHAT. Did you just insult other countries' workers? Now I disagree with you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I did no such thing. I said MAYBE, because we don't know how they're being made. For all we know it's small children working 12 hour days. It's just that if it's made in America, we know it's made according to our laws and standards, so we know it's quality.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

*its quality. And you're wrong. Well, maybe not factually wrong but seriously offending. Just because there's maybe one country with those conditions you think every other country but USA could be it? That just makes me mad, as one from another country.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because I clearly said every country except America has substandard conditions. I'm just saying that you can never KNOW. I'm not even saying there are ANY countries with these conditions, I'm merely saying there's always the POSSIBILITY. And actually, I did mean it's, as in it IS quality.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You do realise that this means that USA is one of those MANY MANY countries with good conditions, yet they are proud they're not one of those "other, worse countries" so they mention it on every product of theirs. Only they mention it though.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Oh my god, it's pointless arguing with someone who clearly doesn't like America. I've never even SEEN anything made in America with the 'proudly' on the tag, so it's not every product. And I think it's fair to say you're right when you say that we're proud we're not a country with substandard working conditions. Other than that, goodbye, because no matter what I say, you'll turn it around and make it seem like America thinks it's superior to every other country in the world, when that's clearly not what I'm saying.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's alright, it's just excessive. I mean being one of the dozens of countries that are better isn't that good of a reason for this.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

The chicken has laid his egg!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wait... you mean China doesn't make everything we buy?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

JEALOUS MUCH? LOLOLOLOL

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Jealous of what, putting a word there? What?
