The way this post is worded is a little harsh, but I have to agree, because my dad's been a cop for over 20 years, and every dog attack he reports to is the result of a pit bull, and every single time, it's an owner who has supposedly owned multiple pit bulls, and they're always completely surprised that their sweet dog would do such a thing. It truly doesn't matter how good the owner is in a pit bull's case, their instinct will always be to attack if they are set off in the right way. However, I won't go as far as to say nobody should own one, but you shouldn't be allowed to own one if you have kids, and they shouldn't be allowed loose if kids are around.

Those people that had the dogs are just plain idiots then. They probably lied about having pit bulls cause if they knew their dogs would attack they would have used the proper discipline to prevent the problem. I have a "dangerous breed" a German shepherd and he's the dumbest and sweetest thing. He's terrified of trash cans and vacuum cleaners and wouldnt attempt to hurt anyone. And before I owned him he wad trained to be a police dog. So it usually is the person.

You do realize that a true Pit bull is supposed to be good with humans, right? A doggy slut of sorts. True, they are prone to dog aggression; that is something any good Pit bull owner will tell you. To say otherwise is denying the history of the breed, yet DA doesn't mean a dog is a murderous monster. It means management. Any good dog owner manages their animal, whether it is a Pit bull or a beagle.

Actually pittbulls are one of the top 5 loyal dogs. it's not the dog when a dog is trained from a young age to be mean and attack any thing in it's way it's going to do what it's been taught. But if it was taught to be a sweet loving animal that behaves and can go it public it again is gonna do what it's been taught. And have you ever actually met a pittbull that was a "mean and nasty animal"? I thought not.

my friend has a pitbull and he's scared of plastic bags. he also is very gentle and cautious around her 18 month old son. he's also very protective of him, and very tolerant of getting beat up by him.he's the nicest dog I've ever seen.
