I had a friend of a friend once who said that she wanted to get pregnant because she wanted to have a kid while she was young and full of energy. At 16. That sort of mentality is so completely ignorant; having a kid has nearly nothing to do with energy, and everything to do with responsibility and being willing to put another person's needs and desires above yours for the rest of your life.

What a stupid generalization. What about people like me who are waiting for marriage to have a baby with someone you love? I'm American. Even those who aren't waiting for marriage don't always do it for stupid reasons.

I didnt realize that if you want to have kids, you're supposed to do it for the good of everyone else.... Of course women have kids for selfish reasons. When they decide to have a kid, they're not thinking "Society could really use my kid." They're probably just thinking about the joy they'll get from raising a kid or something like that.

Like... wanting to have a kid/be a mom? Is there any other reason? Why only American women? Call me selfish if you want, I'd rather have a kid to complete my family rather than to send them off to war or work in a sweatshop or to be in control of and go crazy like one of those abusive power huingry moms or some other out there reason someone might want to have a kid.
