They should do a random drawing of fans at sporting events to sing the National Anthem, amirite?
by Anonymous12 years ago
That would be amusing, to say the least.
by Anonymous12 years ago
No.. Then we'd have to listen to some horrible singer suffer through it...
by Anonymous12 years ago
which would be funny. I mean ya it would be embarrassing, but thats part of the fun

I'd rather not have to listen to some inexperienced singer butcher our national anthem because they're not used to singing in front of thousands of people.

How would this work for international games?
by Anonymous12 years ago
Ha it would be funny just to watch how many Americans don't know the national anthem
by Anonymous12 years ago
That awkward moment where you don't know the anthem..

"Oh say can you see, by the dawns early light. What so proudly we hmm hmm hm hm hm hmmm, da da star spangled banner yet wave"
by Anonymous12 years ago
I remember it perfectly. We used to have to sing it every morning at school during first grade. -.-

No, someone with stage fright should be able to go to a game without having to worry about being called to sing a song that they know will have the rest of the stadium hating them if they don't do it correctly or turn down the opportunity to sing it.

that wasn't the point of the post at all. It would be funny. Yeah you would get embarrassed, and yes most likely the person wouldn't be able to sing well. But that's what makes it funny. I'd love to sing it, even though I have a terrible voice
by Anonymous12 years ago
Yeah, that's wonderful for YOU, but not everyone can so easily stand up and perform in front of thousands at the drop of a hat. Some people have a legitimate phobia of it and should be able to enjoy whatever sport it is they love without having to worry about having to be confronted with such a thing.

well i'm not saying you would be forced too. just like an offer or something. like instead of the dumb halftime giveaways for rounding the bases in baseball, it could be like sing the national anthem and get a tshirt haha. and YOU could pass it up if you were scared.

Okay, then how about we get a box, and anyone who WANTS to sing it can put their name on a piece of paper and put it in. Then we draw it. I think it would be quite amusing, actually.
