People are selfish in thinking that the end of the human race means the end of the world, amirite?

If we aren't here to perceive it, how can you prove this world exists?

Nature continued to thrive after mammoths, dinosaurs, sabertooth tigers, and Tasmanian tigers went extinct. Life went on after the Ice Age. Why would humans be any different? Nature is adaptable.

You're not getting the philosophy. Your taking it at face value. Logically the world will exist after we are all gone. But if none of us are here to perceive that the world does in fact exist, then how can you prove to whom that the world actually exists. The only reason the universe exists is because you are here to percieve it. If you were never born, then as far as "you" (I use quotations since you wouldn't exist) are concerned the universe doesn't exist. Thus if everyone was gone from the world, the world truly would cease to exist, since we are no longer here to perceive it. As soon as "Cogito ergo sum" fails so does everything else.
