+747 The first war started must have been fueled by a lot of hate. "But sir, can't we just see if we can settle this over a competitive game of Checkers?" "NO! People have to die!" Amirite?

I predict a POTD!

Are you under the impression that civilization was settling their issues with heated discussions and friendly competition before they were doing it with violence?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Of course not. It's just that as we became more and more civilized you'd think somewhere along the line someone would think "Hmm. Maybe killing each other ISN'T the most productive way to settle our disputes hmm"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think that's the dream.

I think we should solve our differences with a competitive game...send our intellects to play Jeopardy or something!!

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So you're saying that war... is fueled by hate? I thought it was fueled by rainbows and love... wow...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, I said it must have been fueled by a lot of hate. Make sure you read ALL the words.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

agreed, like, this post applies to all current wars just as it did to the first one

by Anonymous 12 years ago

is it sad, that upon hearing "first war", I thought of Harry Potter?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

To me, yes. To all the diehard Harry Potter lovers on this site, no.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I used this for amirite status day.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Wow. I honestly didn't expect that to happen.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This is funny, but I'm almost 100% positive that war came before checkers.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It didn't have to be Checkers. I just filled in the blank with a game we all know. I'm sure they had a plethora of rock based strategy games in those times.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

:D Probably. I was thinking tag.
