This happens to girls too even though, given the huge concentration of nerves in the clitoris, you ‘d think orgasm would be reached quickly & without much effort. Thing is though, sexual arousal is quite different between the sexes. With boys yes, they do need to think sexy thoughts, look at porn, spy on their sister, etc., but the stimulation is about 30% mental, 70% physical. If their penis doesn’t want to play, or you’ve made it numb by over-stimulating it, orgasm is often out of reach. With girls, it’s the opposite: 70% mental, 30% physical. We have to be in the mood, or seduced by a partner, be they real or imaginary. And yes, when the clitoris wakes up & fills with blood, the orgasms will come freely. Mind you, like a penis, it’s easy to rub your clitoris too enthusiastically & make it too numb to respond. Having said all that, guys often masturbate out of habit or boredom, & their body doesn’t always respond; girls don’t have testosterone urging them to masturbate, so they generally only do it when they’re actually in the mood.
