+269 Girls, You wish chivalry was the next newest trend, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

actually chivaly is kind of blended into society.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So you don't want to be seen as equals?

SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT CHIVALRY. You all killed it when you started acting like cunts and expecting males to treat you like the Queen. Maybe us males would start opening doors for you if you gave us a genuine 'Thank you' once in a while instead of acting like your shit don't stank.

"I know you'd like to think your shit don't stank but lean a little bit closer see that roses really smell like poo-oo-oo".

Every time I try to be chivalrous, the girl refuses. If I try to hold a door, or let them out/in first, they say "oh no, you go". And I refuse to go first, and we end up arguing. All cuz I tried to be chivalrous. So excuse me if I don't do it that much anymore.

I always hold doors open for other people not because it's chivalrous, but because it's polite and I've been taught SOME manners.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Well...chivalry IS politeness. Just politeness geared towards women. And I hold doors for guys too. I do it to be chivalrous when I'm with a potential date or my girlfriend, but with strangers it's just to be polite.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not really, having people let me walk all over them makes me feel weird.

If I have a son when I'm older, I'm not gonna let him take a girl on a date until he understands that you open the car door for her BEFORE you get in the car yourself.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because the strain on her arm from pulling one of those stiff Corolla handles might be too much for her to handle?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No. I don't think women are weak or anything. (Hell, I'm one myself and I'm perfectly capable of opening doors myself!) But it is a NICE thing to do. It doesn't say the guy thinks the girl can't do anything for herself. It says he cares and is willing to help out, to be CHIVALROUS. Same thing with pulling a chair out for a lady. It's to be nice, it's not saying they can't do anything for themselves.

Equal rights and chivalry cannot coincide and be of equal levels. Half of girls like full equality and get pissed if you do something like that, the other half get mad if you don't. Chivalry was prominent back in the times when women were treated as nothing more than a means of keeping the house running and having children. Almost all aspects of life have moved on and evolved since then, but that is the one that women still cling to because it is the only one that benefits them.

I would feel so weird if a guy did that to me. I wouldn't like it. I'd run to the car door everytime after that so I could open it myself.

Guys; you wish being nice and polite was the next newest trend for girls, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why should gender matter who you're courteous and polite to?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

At my work today I saw a 11-14 year old girl walk in and instead of holding the door open for an old lady using a walker, she lets the door hit her and she stumbled. The young girl then said, "that bitch deserves it because she wasn't paying attention." And then said something along the lines of old people would be better off dead. I was speechless on what I saw... and I still am. I just hope that will be the only time I ever see that happen.

Why should we act like gentlemen when women dont act like women?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think politeness needs to be more on both sides. Todays youth is losing what it's like to be nice to other people. Of course there's always going to be those few who are the sweetest, but mostly we are all assholes. Chicks need to learn to not be hoes who are bitches and dudes need to learn not to be asses and douchebags. And chivilary is not dead, A LOT of my guys friends hold doors open for girls and make them more comfortable.

Chivalry is dead.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Chivalry isn't dead, it's just hiding behind equality.
