-129 In 1960, the average weight of American females aged 20-30 was 127 pounds. Now, it's 154 pounds. Guys: this is so unfair, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

First you're shallow. Second if it bothers you so much just go for a thinner girl, just because the average is higher doesn't mean there's no thinner girls

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You made a good point and then followed it up with a bad one, he shouldn't be allowed near women period if he thinks this way.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

well yeah I was going to add something like if you can even find a girl who would put up with your.. that's where I stopped I didn't really know what to call him because I already said shallow so it would seem sort of repetitive

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Immaturity? Idiocy? Stupidity?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

excellent words.. if only I could have thought of those before I posted that

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You got the message across well enough, plus i had time to think of adequate words for it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I have the feeling a lot of chicks voted on this haha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

haha yeah if you look on the side you see a lot of the people that disagreed were girls

by Anonymous 12 years ago

With thoughts and values like that you couldn't even get a girl who is 354 pounds.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I want my gf/future wife to have a healthy weight, what's so wrong about that?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Because you didn't post it about a "healthy weight", you said it referring to looks, an extra 20 pounds really isn't that much.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

A typical 5'5'' girl who is 154 pounds would be overweight, i.e. unhealthy. And people tend to get fatter with age, meaning she'd probably get even bigger in her 30s, 40s, and 50s

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Why only aim the comment at guys then? Surely it is unfair for the women too that the average in their age group is larger now than they were 50 years ago? I'm sure if you looked at the figures for men the same would be true. Either way, with the way you think about women you'll end up alone anyway so it doesn't matter.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not if she's 5'10.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, just go for a taller girl

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Be thankful for the anon button OP.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

y

by Anonymous 12 years ago

And guys haven't gotten fatter too? You think we don't appreciate nice abs and toned arms? It goes both ways honey.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

They are also taller. y

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No they're not. Girls haven't gotten any taller in the last 50 years.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Like ThisIsWhyImRite said, people have gotten taller. And the obesity rate is higher. Average doesn't mean most common it's if you add them up and divide. So adding in all those obese people averages the tiny people's weight up. If you look at the medium (most common rather than average) weight it might have different results. (then again, it might not. You never know.) I just mean if you average a kindergarten class age it's probably 5. Throw the teacher in and the average might become 12. And honestly, 154 isn't as much as it sounds.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol they are taller hahahaha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

yup "were not fat were taller" lol

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If this was reversed it'd be +500.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

okay?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

lol u mad fatties?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

How is that unfair?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

in 1960 the average woman's BMI was 24.8, now it's 28.1. in 1960 the average man's BMI was 25.2, now it's 28.2. so really, men & women are pretty much in the same boat here.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I think this post was gone about the wrong way...it should end with "We need to try to be a healthier country, amirite?" rather than the guys thing. also since this is the average, it includes women who are 100 pounds and women who are 400 pounds so it's not exactly the best way to look at things.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

People act like they're not shallow but everybody's a little shallow. Shouldn't yell at people for doing the same thing we all do. OP might like someone thin, but if you look at it the other way chubby chasers are shallow too because they don't want the thin girl they want the chubby girl. So it's on the opposite end of the spectrum but it's still happening.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

You're making it sound like it's unfair and that guys should be getting fatter too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Being 5'10, that would be too thin for me. If I was 127 lbs, I would be either under a healthy bmi or very close to it. I am 140 lbs and that is still very thin compared to my height.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Okay, obviously tall girls will be heavier. The post is talking about average weight, and therefore average height as well.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, but It sucks that people assume that a certain weight is heavy regardless of a person's height. I have a friend who is 155 pounds but is 6'0. No one believes she weighs that much because it all evens out. I feel awkward when people guess I weigh 120-125 because I'm thin and have to tell them I'm really 15-20 lbs heavier. I think weight should be defined by BMI instead of pounds.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

5'11 175 pound and a football linemen and I am damn proud

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's not overweight...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah I know I would have to be 260 to be over wieght

by Anonymous 12 years ago

No, you'd have to be more like 200. 260 would be well into obesity.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Ohhh what if I'm ( not saying I am because I am obviously not) all muscle and around 240 - 250 is that unnatural?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Just because someone is overweight doesn't mean they're condemned to health risks. Yeah, it's common, but that doesn't mean once you're one pound overweight you get cancer or high blood pressure. It goes both ways. Don't be ignorant.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Girls are 27 pounds heavier on average than they used to be, not 1 pound. Don't try to diminish the scope of the problem.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm just saying that not every overweight person is unhealthy.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Only fat girls got angry wit this post
