what would happen if you shot a portal on a wall, and the other portal one the other wall in a ten meter wide room, and put a fifteen meter long rope through one portal and it would come out the other portal, and the you tied the front of the rope to the back, so now it's like one long rope......that never ends. amirite?

That would essentially be the same thing as tying it in a circle, except you can do even less with it. >_>

Well it is as if you have an endless supply of rope because if you kept pulling the rope it would never end

Aside from a particularly awesome training method for Ninja Warrior, what could you do with that? >_>

It wouldn't never end, if you kept pulling it, you'd come across the knot that tied it together. It's basically tying in in a circle. If you tie a rope in a circle, stand inside it, and pull the rope past you, you'll come across the knot every fifteen feet you pull. :)

I already beat that level of Portal.

Uhm... Would you really need portals to tie a long rope together?

@Uhm... Would you really need portals to tie a long rope together?

because if you just tied them together they would be a circle, but if they were tied together through portals, they would be a straight line that never ends

NOW you're thinking with portals!

It'd have to be twenty feet, with fifteen it would only reach half of the way to the end of the rope in a ten-foot room

@It'd have to be twenty feet, with fifteen it would only reach half of the way to the end of the rope in a ten-foot room

I think it only has to be a bit more then 10 feet long
Because you have the portal on both walls, it only has to be long enough to reach from one portal to another and go through, plus enough room for the knot

Or am I just missing something?

@davidsplanteII Well first of we are using the metric system

Sorry, that was because of the post I replied too _^;;
So I thought the post didn't use the metric system either

In that case, make it a bit more then 10 meter
The theory is still the same though
