To help with your decision. The one child policy is a mandatory abortion even if its a baby thats been born already ive been told. Im not a pro lifer but i know thats fucked up. The current consent age in china is 12.

It would be a better system, but it wouldn't 'work better', it would be far far less effective in keeping the population down.

abortion isn't mandatory, families that have more than one child simply face large fines. Also the law only applies to 35% of the population, those who are only children themselves, those living in rural areas or those that are ethnic minorities are allowed adiional children. The age of consent is 14 not 12 and increasing it wouldn't really decrease births. The one-child policy is a drastic way for china to decrease it's enormous population. The main problem is that it increases the male to female ratio. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

You'd have to blame my friend for that. I was told it was mandatory. Blame the internet for the age of consent part, maybe it was just for one part of china.
